I am a PhD student (Astronomy) who is going to submit thesis in the next month. I am actively searching for Postdoc opportunities in the UK. I came across Newton Fellowship and I would like to know my chances of getting the fellowship. Is it very competitive? Is their fellowship enough to survive in the UK?

2Do you mean the Newton International Fellowship jointly run by the Royal Society and British Academy ? The linked webpage says it's closing for good and there will be no more fellowships from the fund unfortunately.– astrosnapperCommented Dec 10, 2021 at 17:24

@Anyon In any case, astrosnapper's information appears to be out of date - following their link reveals that these fellowships are back in existence, although the deadline for applications for 2025 entry has already passed.– Daniel HattonCommented May 12 at 16:07

1@DanielHatton I had already deleted my comment, but ah, I completely overlooked the "closing for good" part of the comment earlier. That indeed seems to be out of date.– AnyonCommented May 12 at 16:12
