A method of combining multiple network connections in parallel to increase throughput beyond a single connection.

Example: Two 1GiB interfaces could by combined in on lagg interface with a thoughput of 2 GiB/sec.

Other names for this are:

  • Network bounding
  • Link link aggregation
  • NIC teaming
  • Inter-Switch Link (Cisco)
  • Trunking
