I have an ASUS TUF F15 Laptop.

Model : FX506LH

BIOS VERSION : 310

OS : Windows 10 Home Single Language

Secure Boot is ENABLED in the BIOS settings and greyed out and there is no way to disable it.

Tried some methods that I found online:

  1. Updating Secure Boot keys to Factory

  2. Disable FastBoot

  3. Setting Administrator Password

  4. Reset to default settings

At the end nothing worked and it is still enabled and cannot be disabled...

I know it can be disabled because I have previously installed Linux on this Laptop which requires Secure Boot to be disabled.

Linux absolutely does not require Secure boot to be disabled although I disagree with your plan because it’s unnecessary here are the instructions provided by ASUS

  • I can't install Arch Linux due to Secure Boot, I was able to install it before Commented Jun 13 at 14:16

So Arch Linux indeed does not support Secure Boot. Although arch-secure-boot does add that support. Did the ASUS documentation help? What is the OS Type configured to?

  • arch-secure-boot is a package that we install after we install arch-linux. But I cannot get it installed. That's not even the main problem. Question is to disable secure-boot or why is my secure-boot option greyed out. Also there is nothing such as OS Type in there. I have a laptop and the guide is for an Asus Motherboard. • You will need to start providing screenshots of what you do see, secure boot is required by Microsoft, to allow it to be disabled. Since it came with Windows 10 the option, per the required, does exist it just might not be immediately apparent
