VMware says that VMware Workstation Pro is free for personal use, but when clicking on the download button that has been migrated to Broadcom, I get a red stop sign saying: No Entitlement. So can’t download, even though I have registered an account at Broadcom. I’m a personal user and therefore lack Site ID which is required to build a profile.

Here are the relevant links:

I tried to download latest version:

VMware Workstation Pro (For Windows) 17.5.2

  • While free VMWare still has certain limitations specifically if your user in specific regions where they are prohibited from selling their software. So they have you request access after filling out your profile. Only VMWare can help with this particular problem

  • VMware Workstation Pro (not Player) is not free for users. I am posting from within VMware Pro now. You need to purchase it and then you can download it.
