Microsoft teams has this annoying "feature" that when I click a teams meeting link, it redirects to my organization page. Except I'm not associated with that organization anymore, and guess what, there is no button to log out, only to log in:

Also, there are no cookies in this specific page, so trying to remove them is futile. I figured the cookies are for teams.microsoft.com, but as soon as I enter this page, it instantly redirects me to the infamous past-organization page, so I can't open dev tools there.

How can I delete these cookies for that page specifically, in Chrome, without deleting all my browser data?

Have you tried wiping the Teams data contained within AppData?

  • @Ramhound but this is on the web version, not the Teams app

  • Please add more details like the name and version of the operative system that you are using and if you have Office related apps installed in computer like Excel, Work, Skype, etc.

I had to clean all browser data, including cookies, for the problem to be fixed.

If you are on windows you can look out for credentials saved in the Microsoft Credential Manager within the Web- or Windows Credentials for a microsoft / teams entry and remove it manually.

For anyone still strugglin with the same problem like me {on linux Ubunutu 22.04}:

As a temporary solution, you can start the teams chat via web-browser based Outlook.

Log into web outlook (or microsoft 365 office) with your new corporate credentials. This should work - it is only Teams that causes problems as of now.

On the top (in my case blue) bar, click the chat button and sign into Teams. Then you should be able to chat at least.

As a result, you will notice a new option to sign in with another account. However, and interestingly enough, this is STILL only within the same (old) organisation. Which is really annoying and M$ has been known for this like problems with signing in process (to several products) for decades.

You may try to struggle with this process, let other know if you succeed to log into Teams with creds from your new organisation. I have not :-/ Apparently, it takes another magician to trick out M$ :oD
