Fix I Cannot See Video Files on Connected Camera only Photos

I have photos and videos on my SD card, but when I try to access them I only see photos to import. They are surely on my SD card, as I can see them on the camera only when the SD card is in it. I tried to use the cable link to the camera, which gets the photos, but the videos are not there. I even tried it on my MacBook Pro, which has a built-in card reader, but it didn't work. I would be grateful for any advice.
