In order to test a gigabit connection ideally use a PC with 8gb+ of memory, an Intel i5+ cpu, an SSD drive, no network scanning anti-virus and disable browser extensions that may have hooks into scripting. To achieve OVER a gigabit you will also need a 10gig ethernet card.
