Hoax?

[edit]

Not being able to retrieve any reliable source about this person who supposedly was a bigger drug dealer than Pablo Escobar, I suspect that this article may be a hoax written to support another hoax, the supposed documentary film made about her. I am open to being shown otherwise, but watching Cocaine Cowboys 2 felt very much like a hoax. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Knotaholic (talkcontribs) 07:47, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

See articles in the wake of her death, also the government's case against her (see External links section in the article, U.S. v. Griselda Blanco)--Nyctc7 (talk) 22:25, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In regard to PianoKeys' comment on WP:ANI: ESkog is correct. There's no reason we should have an overabundance of non-free images in that article, especially since they're all being used for decorative purposes. Please read our non-free content policies more closely. Even keeping the one image (Image:Griselda.jpg) is pushing it, considering that a "fair use replaceable" argument could be made. — Rebelguys2 talk 10:34, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I placed the date of the photo taken at the Colombian International Airport. The reference is a time stamp as shown in the picture from the Cocaine Cowboys 2 film. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ftcnt (talkcontribs) 00:13, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think these images are allowed to be used at Wikipedia, they meet the criteria. PianoKeys 10:51, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LGBT?

[edit]

I've removed the LGBT cats because the Charles Cosby piece is not a reliable source. If a reliable source can be found that states her sexuality, please add the info and source. -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 15:47, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As much as I like Andrei Codrescu, I don't know that the Exquisite Corpse can be considered a reliable source either. -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 17:55, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Medellín or Santa Marta

[edit]

This article links to "People from Santa Marta" but itsels it says that she's born in Medellín. Who's right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 171.69.75.3 (talk) 00:50, 16 May 2009 (UTC) The english wikipedia's page speaks about Cartagena city as her place of birth while the spanish page speaks about Santa Marta. Which of the two is true? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Partialouest (talkcontribs) 07:07, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Location in Florida: Dade County area of Miami Florida?

[edit]

In the third paragraph of the Biography section the following sentence refers to location of most of the murders for which Blanco is considered responsible: "She is suspected of having masterminded over 200 murders during this time in the Dade County area in Miami, Florida.[3]". Miami is a city that is located within Miami-Dade County, Florida - known simply as Dade County at that time. There is no "Dade County area of Miami, Florida". If anything this should read "the city of Miami in Miami-Dade County, Florida". J-Mac (talk) 04:57, 20 March 2011 (UTC) Miami-Dade_County,_Florida[reply]

I don't have access to the material that is referenced there, so I've rewritten that to say "Dade County". -- SatyrTN (talk / contribs) 16:47, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed move at Black Widow

Her name

[edit]

An editor believes her name should be "Griselda Blanco Restrepo", apparently based on the fact that her mother's last name was Restrepo. This does not follow, it is not conclusive evidence that Griselda's born name was Griselda Restrepo. She appears to be commonly known as Griselda Blanco (that is also her name in the case against her), and her name in the info box and in the introduction should remain Griselda Blanco. Certainly any a/k/a can be included in the body of the article, as long as it indeed an a/k/a. And if a citation can be found to her born name, the introduction to the article would look something like this: Griselda Blanco (born "place born name here"), later known as the Cocaine Godmother, was a...--Nyctc7 (talk) 18:54, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Basuco mispelled in article

[edit]

Basuco found refereced in the wikipedia article [Cocaine paste] is misspelled in this article as bazooka (which is a weapon). The page protection will not allow me to make this change. LunaCelestial (talk) 19:06, 2 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Three years old don't "adopt" a criminal lifestyle

[edit]

She (...) moved to Medellín when she was three years old. Upon arriving there, she adopted a criminal lifestyle.

She obviously didn't "adopt a criminal lifestyle" (whatever that means) at three years old. 153.210.163.104 (talk) 14:23, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
