Controversial already?

[edit]

BayImg is in the article said to be controversial. Can that really be established already? Or are you just guessing? ;-) —Bromskloss 18:57, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to be down a lot.

Yeah, I had problems today Douglas A. Whitfield of http://www.ibiblio.org/cosi 00:45, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

"With "legal", BayImg means that no rape, child pornography or other related imagery may be uploaded." Where is the citation for this? I do not see them saying this anywhere on the site. --NeF 10:34, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From ZeroPaid:
Now some are already griping that it could become a haven for pedophiles and images of child pornography but, the site clearly states that "As long as your pictures are legal they will be hosted here." Child pornography isn't legal in Sweden. This brings up the question that don't all image hosting sites host legal content and don't remove anything that is not? So what will set it apart?
Posting copyrighted images is illegal for any site to do, and so it would seem that all BayIMG will protect is the ability to host images that are of sensitive content like nudity, violence, sex, drugs, guns, etc.. It will be images that fall under taste and ethics, like images of burned bodies or a guy taking bong hits. It's these sort of fit for public consumption concerns that BayIMG will not be worried about and provide the main impetus for users to seek out the site.

Full URL, for those that thought Zeropaid was a userid above like me: http://www.zeropaid.com/news/8861/The+Pirate+Bay+Launches+'BayIMG'+to+Host+Uncensored+Images Douglas A. Whitfield of http://www.ibiblio.org/cosi 00:50, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uh, where's it gone?

[edit]

Obviously the article has been edited to place Bayimg in the past tense, but no mention as to why. There's nothing on the Pirate Bay site as far as I can see, they still link to the site, but Bayimg has been down for a while now. What's going on?

It seems to be back up--Viridistalk|contributions 18:26, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's gone again, is this it now? Goodbye to all images uploaded there, and their associated links from other sites are all dead...? Jimthing (talk) 00:52, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Supports removal codes for images

[edit]

This isn't working for a while now. Maybe the sentence should be removed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jefo (talkcontribs) 08:33, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Removal code does not work at all (2021), it is a lie that you can remove the picture once uploaded! This MUST be mentioned in the Wikipedia article in order to people be aware of this! — Preceding unsigned comment added <IP redacted> 10:00, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
