I timed the battery and unlike other drones it lasted about the time it said (22 mins on a windy day). We flew it while we had a pretty good breeze going and it was steady. My son was able to fly it well after a few practices runs. The camera is decent considering this drone is less than $200. I wasn’t expecting much from the camera, but it did take great shots. Very pleased with this purchase.

    I had never owned or even flown a drone prior to purchasing this Holy Stone HS710. My neighbor an experienced drone pilot recommended it to me. I found the HS 710 to be all that I expected and more. It was easy to learn how to fly as a beginner from just reading the owners manual. As I gained experienced, I found that it was easy to use at more advanced levels as well. It has many nice features. The camera was capable of making detailed videos and still shots. The app and drone interfaced well with my iPhone 10. It is small and compact and easy to store and pack for travel. Being a light-weight drone, it is susceptible to control issues in a higher wind, which is of course to be expected and not a problem specific to this particular drone. The only negative issue that I have had was the inability to loosen the screws holding the propellers to the motor shafts when trying to replace a slightly damaged propeller. It was if the screws had been glued in. I was able to communicate my issue with the Holy Stone customer support team, and was sent a new replacement drone. I would highly recommend the HS710 for someone looking for a drone in this class.

    I bought the Holy Stone HS710 drone a few weeks ago and I have to say I'm impressed by its performance and features. It's very easy to learn how to use, even for a beginner like me. The controller is intuitive and responsive, and the app is user-friendly and compatible with my phone. The drone is advertised as having a 4K camera, but I feel like the quality is closer to 720p at best. Also I would have liked to see a slightly longer battery life, especially since the drone is not that heavy. The setup does take some time and patience. It takes me about five minutes to unfold the arms, calibrate it, sync it to the app and then find a suitable location to launch it from. I have found that in the time it takes to set the drone up on the ground, the wind begins to change directions or pick up, further halting my plans to get this little guy up in the air. Another thing I learned is that you should definitely watch some videos on proper drone flying before you take off. This drone is powerful and fast, but it can be affected by wind and other obstacles. In fact, I almost lost it on a flight recently when a gust of wind blew it towards a nearby tree. Luckily, I was able to regain control and land it safely, but it was a close call. I recommend practicing in an open and clear area, and paying attention to any wind changes that may blow it away. Also note that if you do fly in wind, this drains the battery alot faster and the drone only comes with one. So your 20 minute flight may turn out to be 10-15 if there is wind present. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and I would recommend the Holy Stone HS710 to anyone looking for a high-quality and affordable drone. It's easy to use, but it also requires some preparation and caution. It's a great way to have fun and explore new perspectives.

    Finally had a chance to really get out and use this for a while. Let me start by saying, the initial set-up for me was a breeze. Downloading the app, connecting to the drone and the remote pairing, all went very smooth. The only real wrinkle of any kind was when connecting to the drone through my phones WiFi settings, my phone kept asking if I wanted to continue since the connection had no internet access. But that was my phone and not the drone. Make sure you follow the steps laid out in the instructions (they also are show when you start the app) and everything syncs up fine. Be sure to do the compass calibration as well. This is very important.

    On to the flying. I had tested it in a limited capacity to see that things all connected and worked. I had played around with the auto take off and auto land, as well as the return to home. All of that worked great. Then I finally got to go to a wide open area and fly it. Winds were a little gusty at around 8 to 10mph; but the drone did a good job of holding position with little drift. I took it up to about 60 feet or so and out over a river to get some footage. I had no issues at all. Controls were easy to use, the app performed fine, and the camera did too. Now, this camera is not stabilized on a 3 axis gimble, so don't expect cinema level footage. You are going to get some shake and movement. But this is a beginner drone. I payed $125 for it. I don't' think you will find any 3 axis gimbles in the price range. What I did get was nice, clear HD video that I am happy with.

    I then played with some of the functions like Follow Me and the Orbit/POI. The issues i had came from my unfamiliarity with how they worked. I went back to the book and refreshed my knowledge, and I was able to get both to work fine.

    In the process of using the Follow Me function, I inadvertently tested out the durability of the drone as well. I forgot to turn off the function, and in walking back to my car to retrieve something, I accidentally led the drone into a tree. Upon retrieving the drone, I found it was none the worse for wear, and I was able to immediately relaunch with no issues. Obviously, it does not have automatic obstacle avoidance.

    The batter life is as advertised , and I got 20 to 25 minutes of flight time from the charge. Also, I weighed this on a postal scale, and it came in under the 249gm mark, so no FAA registration to worry about. Be sure to get your TRUST certificate though.

    I am pleased with the purchase and feel like it is a solid value. I look forward to spending more time flying this drone.

    I’ve been pretty satisfied with my Holy Stone HS710 drone. As a beginner, I found this drone to be far more manageable than smaller ones. It’s quite user-friendly, and I got the hang of it quickly. The flight stability is decent for a drone of its size, though I’ve yet to fully test the GPS accuracy, being new to flying drones.

    The camera quality is satisfactory, not outstanding, but it gets the job done. A highlight is the battery life, lasting about 25 minutes, which is quite good. Plus, HolyStone sent an extra battery for free, which was a great bonus – thanks, HolyStone!

    Setting it up was straightforward, but it’s important to start on a flat surface and read the manual before the initial setup. The build quality is as good as plastic can be, which isn’t bad at all.

    I particularly like the return-to-home function; it’s a useful feature, especially for new pilots. The price seems fair for what it offers. However, be aware that you need to set it on a flat surface before turning it on, or you might face some trouble initiating.

    Overall, I’d recommend the Holy Stone HS710 for anyone starting out in the drone world. It strikes a good balance between ease of use, features, and value.

    I wasn’t sure how this drone would be for the price it was very cheap but I’ve flown it like 5 times already and I’ll definitely be buying another drone from holy stone I’ve crashed the drone into a tree it’s smashed on the ground and no damage at all it still flys perfect and I couldn’t be happier

     I have a YouTube channel and several outdoor hobbies, and I've thought about using a drone for a few years now. After doing a lot of research I decided to give the Holy Stone HS710 a chance as a good way to learn how to fly a drone, and to use some of the more advanced features such as follow me, circle mode, etc. I'd like to start about by saying that my first few flights out resulted in some significant blade damage (first one undetected which led to a much bigger crash next flight). Holy Stone sent me a replacement set of blades free of charge, and they responded to my request very fast, so that's excellent service.

    In regards to flight, it works very well and is easy to get the hang of it, and is surprisingly quiet. Setup overall was a breeze, and the compact size of it means I can load it up in my hydration pack and bring it with me on my mountain bike trips. Battery life is as advertised, but I would suggest you don't trust the battery meter. Once it hits 2 out of 4 bars, that's your queue that the drone is going to quit flying real soon. When you hit low power mode the GPS return kicks in and it does returns to the general area it started from.

    Image quality is where things fall apart. As long as you don't expect a good image, then you'll be fine. Video is shaky, and pictures are on the low definition side. For photos, I would strongly suggest you adjust all the image adjustment sliders manually for each picture you take to try to squeeze out better color and contrast. This will result in a much better picture (although still not amazing - see attached). Unfortunately this also means that you are using up precious flight time doing the adjustments, so plan accordingly. Video has a bit of a warble to it, and can get quite shaky. You can improve the video after the fact through video editing software that has stabilization feature. In my video I uploaded it shows the raw video and then a stabilized one. You aren't going to win any awards here, but it does make it better.

    I've only had it once where I couldn't get a GPS lock, so I flew it with GPS turned off. It all worked well, although it will constantly drift if you aren't attending to it. I would strongly suggest not flying with GPS turned off.

    Overall I'm glad I purchased this drone. My plan is to fly it for the majority of 2023 to hone my skills, and I trust it will operate well during this time. I will definitely consider a higher end drone from Holy Stone in the feature.

    I got this for Christmas and waited to test it out and am I impressed with this drone! It was a great price on sale for 200 CAD and I am so glad I own it. It is easy to setup and start flying pretty quick. I basically turn the remote and then drone on turn off bluetooth setup via wifi network then open the app to ensure its connected once it is i make sure all lights are green and hit the unlock button and then press take off and away it goes!
