These are great handheld controllers. For anyone reading the other reviews, Hori doesn't make wireless controllers for the switch. Read the product page, these were never intended to work wirelessly and are specifically made for handheld use in mind. This specific pair comes with a very cute wired component so you can play ranged, which is why they're more expensive than the other standard Hori controllers. There is a separate, cheaper set without the wired component for only handheld use which is cheaper, but they do not have a translucent shell towards the bottom. They work very well and come with a turbo function, and I have not encountered issues with this pair yet, or my other Hori controllers. But buyers, please read the product page before complaining and giving fewer stars to a product that was never advertised to be wireless, from a company that doesn't sell wireless controllers.

As soon as I knew these were going to be released I wanted them so bad! Luckily, I saw they were available on Amazon and got them immediately! They are awesome! I love eevee and it's evolutions. The controllers are fully functional, all the buttons work, the controllers are comfortable in my hands and they feel WAY better than the original joycons that come with the nintendo Switch. These are actually the second pair of Hori split pad compact controllers that I own (my first ones were the Gengar ones) and I will probably keep buying these Hori split pad compact controllers if they keep releasing them with new colors/patterns.
(oh and I guess I should mention the little connector thingy that lets you connect the controllers to each other and directly to the Switch dock so you can use them detached from the Switch. I have only used it once, I am not a fan of it, but it does work and there are no problems with it, I just prefer to use the controllers attached to the Switch in handheld mode.)

Controllers are so comfortable and beautiful to look at, it even looks great with my Pokemon OLED dock and is incredibly responsive, however a few things will make this a hard purchase for a lot of people:

A) USB setup: following the instructions in the box is incorrect. You need to load up the switch with the controller connected wired and another controller to take you to the controller menu to rearrange the order of controllers (also you must enable the USB connected option in the Settings menu). Then you press buttons on the new controller for the Switch to recognize the USB controller.

B) Lack of wireless option: This controller only works via USB and connected to the switch via the sides on the joycon connections. The individual controllers don't work wirelessly as separate controllers, which is what I was hoping for to replace my Joy Cons.

C) Price: $90 is a bit steep for limited controllers that are from a 3rd party company, which means lack of proper warranty and support so I can only hope this controller lasts for the long haul. But knowing Hori's history with durability will definitely prove otherwise.
