Today’s 1-star review:
This update is for the service department. I hate it. I've been taking my little c-class in for 2.5 years for all the standard A and B services, plus a number or other items like new tires and brakes, and the more I do, the more I am put-off by the service and question whether I am actually giving my car true quality care to keep it running optimally.
I've found over time that the recommended services they "suggest" just aren't dependable or trustworthy. For instance, they'll say the air filter is dirty, and then next time when I specifically ask them to check it, they say it's fine. They'll say it needs a brake fluid flush, then when I have the pads and rotors replaced, they'll check it and say, no, i don't really need it yet. It just seems like BS.
Some service advisers are more helpful than others, but this last time was so bad I'm done with them. Instead of listening to my concerns and explaining what "diagnostic tests" service B did and did not provide, he just told me he wouldn't get any advice from a mechanic about what the apparently "additional" diagnostic test would actually provide (and he couldn't tell me anything himself) unless I paid $175 for it first, which I wasn't about to do unless someone who actually turned my car on and listened to it told me it was worthwhile to do. Then he ignored my interest to have them replace the fuel filter when they did the oil change if it was recommended (since it was recommended the last few times after I had it serviced there), and then it was left as another recommended item to do again, which at this point I don't really know if I can trust anyways!
I thought service advisers were supposed to help explain and communicate the work done, but this last one just acted like a mindless defensive shield against customers (me) actually being able to accurately find out and understand what is and is not needed or recommended for my car. I have no faith in what is getting done - except the bare minimum, which I presume they do fine, but am not so confident in now.
