I've moved on from my Breakfast Sandwich obsession, now it's Avocado Toast. So far I've tried 10 places, and Stable remains #1. The only cafe to understand that when you call something a toast, for gods sake, TOAST IT!
Absolute perfection people.
Also 5 stars for the outdoor patio, truly an oasis in an otherwise forlorn part of the Mission.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Nov 21, 2023Previous reviewWalking through a questionable part of the Mission, looking for at least 4 star breakfast, thanks to Yelp I found Stable.
First off, who knew there was a wonderful outdoor patio, weathered bricks trees, plenty of greenery. Truly an oasis where you'll want to linger. No heat lamps, but a large glass topped area in case it rains. They won me over with the mellow 70s + playlist. Tom Petty, Cindi Louper...
First you order & pay inside, get your number, find your preferred table, stare at your phone or laptop, then breakfast is brought to your table.
The food didn't take too long. Plenty of tables 11:30a on a Monday, by noon there was a line & only a couple tables left. I'm guessing Saturdays are even busier as Stable is the only game in town until hipster Valencia Street. The patio is far enough from Folsom street & the music drowns out the traffic noise.
Oh yeah, the food. Fantastic! I ordered a breakfast sando, no aioli. There's an option of bacon or kimchi.
Major find, I'll definitely be back - Leticia S.San Francisco, CA61270542Jun 20, 2024
I've been to this breakfast spot twice now, and I don't know if I would go back. The egg sandwich was nasty the first time I had it because I forgot to say fried hard. The second time, it was the lemon aoli.
The service was amazing. The ladies were very nice and friendly.
The ambiance was amazing. There were plants and flowers everywhere with music playing in the background.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jun 12, 2024
Stable Cafe is an oasis in the The Mission District.
It been several years since I visited this beautiful Cafe with a "secret garden" perfect for breakfast or lunch gatherings with friends or family.
Located on Folsom Street in a former Stable I believe is where is derived its name. I was having my oil changed a few blocks away and strolled down 17th Street to "rediscover" this neighborhood gem. I just ordered a Earl Grey tea and a plan croissant and was greeted with a warm smile and prompt service. I made my way to the incredible garden oasis nestled adjacent as with 20 tables with amble shaded seating. It reminded me of the garden District in New Orleans, Paris or Georgetown. Quite. Peaceful. Calming. A place locals meet to start their crazy day in San Francisco with a tranquility.
I will start making it a more frequent place to meet with out of town guest or fellow San Francisocian visitors.
Highly recommend!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 4, 2024
Partner recommend the joint so it was a must. Cashier was great, friendly and helpful. Got the fried egg sandwich with bacon and a peach and strawberry agua fresco. I was a little underwhelmed by the sandwich when it came out. I thought For 13 dollars I probably could've made myself the sandwich every day for a week if I hit up Aldi's BUT!! then that lemon aoli hit. Could I make myself a lemon aoli? Yeah probably but would it be this good? Probably not. And I don't think I would've ever thought to put it on my breakfast. And the agua fresca????? My god. One of the best drinks I've ever had. The outside dining area was also very cozy although the fruit falling off the trees gave me a little scare on the plus side free fruit! If I was too tired to make breakfast myself or just wanted a little morning treat this would definitely be it.

Came for brunch with a friend. You order at the counter and then find your own seat outdoors. I went with the Korean sandwich and a coffee. The sandwich was good but light so definitely order things if you're hungrier. Love the causal vibe and it was nice to just sit outside

Great spot with an outdoor area that is dog friendly! Came here on a busy late Sunday morning. Line was out the door but wasn't too long a wait, and it wasn't hard to find a table. I had a dirty chai and my bf the matcha. As for food, I had an avocado toast and he had the salmon tartine. We both loved what we ordered. The avo toast was nicely seasoned and had a sort of cream cheese underneath the avocado, which made for a yummy pairing. Staff was nice and the outdoor area was lovely. Parking a little difficult but we found a street with plenty parking a couple blocks down.

Absolutely adorable place!! Seating is mostly all outdoors but that's the best part of it! So much greenery and cute plants! Food is also tasty, and service is fast even on a Sunday morning. I think it'll become one of my fav go to spots. Just can't beat the vibes!
