Crown Chicken & Fish

We stayed at a nearby hotel and were looking for something different for dinner. We happened upon Crown's and what an amazing find!! It was a small place with adequate seating and the guys there were awesome. Each order of Chicken is fried to order, to perfection. The crisp and crunch and flavor was like no other. We actually went back later that same night to get more for a late night snack as they are open until 11p.
We recommend Crown's Chicken and Fish for an all around great experience and amazing food.

Their catfish is spot-on - lightly breaded, perfectly seasoned, and just the right mix of flaky and moist. I don't come across fried catfish often, but I think this is the closest and best I'll find around.

A meal comes with a side and I've tried both the fries and the potato wedges; the potato wedges take the cake. Crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside - they're the ideal match for that stellar catfish.

It's an unsuspecting place that sells other fried seafood, fried chicken, halal, and more. Each time I have gone, I ordered 4-piece fried catfish with a side, and it took about 15 minutes each time. There is decent amount of seating to wait or dine-in. If you're a fan of fried catfish, it's worth checking out!

Chicken was ok but we ordered for a group. I was quoted a price. Then overcharged by $10. I paid extra for specifics pieces and got wings and drumsticks anyway. I had someone else pick up my order so I didn't find out about the overcharge til later. No honesty from this establishment. Buyer beware!

Recently, I had a Fried Catfish dinner with rice & it was really good. It was lightly breaded which made the flavor of the catfish come alive. I love this place!

Ordered chicken tenders, onion rings and cole slaw.

First, they were out of cole slaw and onion rings, so they substituted potato wedges and macaroni salad. Wedges were ok, macaroni salad was bland.

But BY FAR the WORST thing were the chicken tenders. They were BLAND, DRY, FLAT and STRINGY. Obviously just VERY low quality "chicken".

I took two bites and was instantly grossed out. I'm no chicken snob, but this was truly just horrible. I tried bites of a couple of other pieces but they were all bad. Just... bad. I'd had frozen chicken from the supermarket that was 10x better for half the price.

I was so disappointed, I called the restaurant (I ordered it from Grubhub), and asked if the chicken was fresh. He said, yes, we just made it. I said, no I'm asking if you make it yourself there, or do you buy it frozen? He said oh yeah, we get frozen tenders and reheat them in the fryer.

When I told him I thought it was crazy to sell frozen chicken for that amount of money (it was not cheap) he had no reply. When I said I wanted a refund (I was NOT rude, mind you), he said "nope". He said to get Popeye's next time. I pointed out to him that Popeye's is MUCH better than what he served me.

I don't know what their regular fried chicken is like, but I can't imagine it's any good, nor am I willing to try it. I'm positive the fish is also frozen disgusting, cheap CRAP.

AVOID CROWN CHICKEN AND FISH. Go to a fast-food place, or any of the other dozens of chicken places in the area. They may not be better but they CERTAINLY can't be any worse!!

I feel a bit indifferent about this place. It's my first time coming and we ordered the Catfish with fries and the shrimp with potato wedges.
Catfish= seasoned well
Fries = OK
Shrimp = no flavor
Wedges = pretty great
The wait wasn't long but I was expecting a bit more.

My favorite for chicken and gyro salad , I've never had to wait long for a takeout , and you can always take a seat in the quaint dining area .

If you are looking for a great place for non greasy fried chicken this is the place .
Friendly Staff .Very clean and if you want to sit down and eat inside excellent sitting area for indoor dining.
We had a 10 pc Chicken with fries .
Will definitely go back.
