Recently took the intro to improv class and it was so much fun!
Did approximately 2 hrs worth of exercises at a comfortable pace. The instructor, Sheree, was great! Very friendly and welcoming, providing great guidance throughout the exercises (especially since our group strayed towards blue material a few times!)
I would highly recommend this for anyone, regardless of intent. I just wanted an activity to do on a Saturday, others were there to help improve public speaking or get back into a creative space. Whatever your reason, do it! It's a heck of a time!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 1649341029Feb 19, 2020
What a great place to try out a new experience! We attended the Drag Comedy Improv night, with no idea what to expect.
The show is free, but please bring cash to donate in the box at the end, they are worth it. In addition always be ready with dollar bills for the Queen! (added, they offer free beer-Natty Boh, so if partaking offer some cash )
The space is great for their low-key, hanging out-supporting local atmosphere. They can easily move in-between the rows of chairs and stage sections, creating an interactive experience.
The comedians are quick witted-100% will make you laugh guarantee. When they weren't on stage, they were the friendliest audience members, and helpful group. They bring the energy!!
The show was only an hour and we were definitely left craving more, have to go back!Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Jan 21, 2019
This is a fun place to try out! We went for a Saturday night show, and since all shows are free - it's no risk if it isn't what you hoped. They do take donations - so we made sure to drop cash in the jar on the way out (you should too!).
The space is great for their operation - there is a waiting area in the front with chairs and tables and then a large performance area with two rows of chairs on 3 sides of the stage. We read that they also offer classes and team workshops for businesses.
It appeared that the place was BYOB - so with several shows a night, it would be a great place to take some beverages and make a whole night of it! Thanks, Baltimore Improv Group for the fun and different night out!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 398475681Dec 4, 2017
What a great way to spend a Saturday night! A group of friends and I decided to stop in for a night of shows - $5 got us access to three one hour shows, each one different and each one funny it's own unique way. Loved the acts and loved meeting the actors after each show - they all stuck around to chat and watch the shows following their own!

Amazing teachers in one-offs and classes, free drinks, free shows, subsidized classes for students -- what more could you ask for? This place holds a special place in my heart.

This theater has improv shows every night of the week. The teams take a suggestion from the audience and then perform honest, hilarious scenes. The weekend performances are reliably funny. Check it out - it's great entertainment for a group, a couple, or for showing out of towners what Baltimore is all about.
I've been here a few times and always had a good experience.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - George J.Hyattsville, MD23610050Feb 17, 2019
Great spot for a low key date night. The venue is very intimate, only seating about 50-60 people and the seats are arranged around the stage. The trouped brought a lot of energy and excitement and the crowd gives all that energy right back to them. Oh and best part.....BYOB and BYOF!!

Low on funds and looking for local entertainment? Check out BIG. The members are an eclectic mix of quick-witted comedians and actors that can get a laugh out of the most stoic person. And the best thing is that it's free! However, donations for the cause are nice.

I've seen a lot of improv and always enjoy BIG shows. Great way to spend a weekend. Love grabbing drinks/food at Sweet 27, Parts and Labor or Clavel and then seeing a show. Highly recommend!

I love the Baltimore Improv Group and have attended many of their free shows, which are offered every day of the week. The cast of improvisers are extremely talented to the point where the shows almost seem scripted (which they are not)!
