Since Elon Musk took over twitter, and turned it into X, there's been a noticeable decline in the facility as a breaking news source.
I'm also seeing fewer of my contacts posting.
Importantly, I've seem many more scammers plying their trade quite openly, and reporting and blocking is a soul destroying waste of time.
Quality is definitely down.
Having said that, I don't know how Musk can justify the subscription charges.

I'll stick with it for the time being whilst there are still opportunities.

I just read today that the FBI was in the process of shutting down a botnet series of fake accounts on "X":
the FBI said that it had identified 968 accounts after an unnamed U.S. government agency tipped it off to the inner workings of RT and its alleged cooperation with an FSB official in setting up the network. Per a statement, X moved to shut down the accounts while the DOJ seized two domain names related to the network.
Their statement is here: [justice.gov...]

Im seeing far less of the Twitterbot. It used to be a sign that someone had posted a link--and, surprisingly, never to any especially fluffy content. Apparently, grownups used to tweet on Serious Academic Subjects.

Well i think it's better since he took over. He's introduced some good features.

> it had identified 968 accounts

One agency finding less than 1,000 accounts, well, it's a start, but woefully short on the true numbers.

>Apparently, grownups used to tweet on Serious Academic Subjects.

That's what i'm finding, The "serious" content is either drowned out, or it's no longer being posted.

>Well i think it's better since he took over. He's introduced some good features.

I guess it depends on what you're after. I didn't see a wink on that, so I assume you have different requirements from twitter X.

I suspect he's cut resources so much that the scammers are getting free reign. I experimented with reporting obvious scammers and it's made no difference: The scammers are still there plying their trade.
