President, Cybersecurity & Martech, Ziff Davis, Inc.
As President of Ziff Davis’ Cybersecurity and Martech division, Nate leads the businesses within the Moz and VIPRE Groups. Before joining Ziff Davis, Nate was Senior Vice President and COO of the Consumer Division of Symantec Corp, the leading provider of security and identity protection solutions under the Norton and LifeLock brands.
Prior to Symantec, Nate was Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing at Time Inc., where he held a variety of leadership positions. Nate began his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. Nate received an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB in Economics from Harvard College.
As the General Manager of Business Security for VIPRE Security Group, Usman is responsible for executing the company’s product vision and strategy for advanced threat defense solutions. With contributions to several patented innovations in the early stages of the security space, he was instrumental in influencing the evolution of mission-critical cyber defense programs for the U.S. Navy (PROMETHEUS) and other government agencies, as well as security programs at Microsoft and other large enterprises. Before joining VIPRE, Usman held several product leadership roles to develop identity and security businesses at NetIQ, Novell, and eSecurity. He previously served ten years in technology innovation for the global brokerage industry. Usman received his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Rutgers University School of Engineering, and executive leadership education from Harvard Business School. In his personal time, Usman regularly contributes to several non-profit service initiatives nationally and was the recipient of the distinguished U.S. President’s Call to Service Award in 2013.
Subbu Sthanu is the VP of VIPRE Security Group’s Consumer Privacy Strategy. Subbu leads the global product management, and marketing teams for our consumer security & privacy offerings. He is responsible for developing & executing against the product roadmaps, marketing and go to market strategies for our leading consumer brands including IPVanish, StrongVPN, SaferVPN, encrypt.me, Livedrive, SugarSync, and VIPRE.
Subbu is a data-driven executive with 25 years of experience in Product Management & Marketing, P&L Management, Corporate Development, and Business Operations at both emerging & established software & service enterprises in the security, data & privacy market segments. Subbu previously served on the executive leadership teams of NetIQ, Idera Inc., IgniteTech, and BeyondTrust; on the senior leadership teams of IBM, RSA, Novell, & Trustwave; and as an executive consultant to Akamai’s President and to Private Equity firms such as Insight Partners, Austin Ventures, ESW Capital and FTV Capital. He also incubated 2 VC funded start-ups in the security & data privacy markets, Skyflow and Clearedin. Subbu also serves on the Board of Directors of the Internet Infrastructure Coalition that ensures that those building the infrastructure of the Internet have a voice in public policy.
Subbu earned his Bachelors in Technology with Honors from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, a Master of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and executive leadership education from Harvard Business School. Subbu has been primarily in Austin over the last 25 years, with his wife and kids.
As Senior HR Director, Collette oversees the human resources function for the entire VIPRE Security Group. Collette is an experienced HR professional and trusted advisor partnering with local and regional business leaders in Ireland, UK, North America, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and the Netherlands.
Collette has been part of the Ziff Davis family for nearly 8 years after working previously for Nuance Communications. She resides in Dublin, Ireland.
