Share your 2024 tech forecasts (wrong answers only) to win a terrible sweater

OpenAI led by the Swedish Chef? Musk aims for Mars and hits Venus instead? What are your predictions?

Competition Another year has passed, and another of Microsoft's Christmas sweaters is seeking a new home. Come up with a suggestion for OpenAI's next CEO, and our retro Paint-themed monstrosity could be yours.

It is time for the annual clear-out of the Vulture Central cupboards, and lurking within is an unopened example of a Microsoft "Ugly Christmas Sweater," this time with an MS Paint theme as a reminder of simpler times.

The size is XXL, and human hands have not yet sullied the cozy delight.

To be the first to tear the plastic asunder, we'd like you to look ahead and ponder what lies ahead for the IT world in 2024.

Perhaps the revolving doors of OpenAI might spin once more and perform another rapid unplanned defenestration of former and current CEO Sam Altman in favor of the Muppets' Swedish Chef.

Maybe Microsoft might make it through a presentation without mentioning artificial intelligence?

What if the Raspberry Pi 6 arrives, running so hot that the SoC manages to melt its way to the other side of the planet?

Or it is revealed that Elon Musk is just a practical joke played on us all by cats seeking to rule the Earth.

Considering the theme of this week's contest, maybe it is revealed that Windows 12 is actually just a re-release of Windows for Workgroups 3.11, and the last 30 years were all a cheese-induced dream.

It's up to you – whose turn is it to take up the OpenAI reins? What new delights await with Windows 12?

Wrong answers only, please.

We'll pick a winner at the end of the week. If you've got a UK address, we'll dispatch your sweater to reach you in time for Christmas. If you're not in the UK, or do not want your piece of Christmas MS Paint action, you can opt for us to donate it to charity if the idea of dressing up as an untitled bitmap for the festive season fills you with horror. ®
