Iconic sandals brand Teva has launched the fourth iteration of its Artist Series collection featuring San Francisco-based street wear designer Benny Gold.

The new style showcases Gold’s take on the classic Original Universal sandal, with a unique geometric pattern inspired by the free-wheeling days of youth.

The annual Teva Artist Series collection celebrates the spirit of creative expression with artists who are bold and unafraid to take design risks.

“Benny Gold’s unwavering sentiment for doing what you love and are passionate about in life made him a perfect collaborator for Teva’s Artist Series collection,” said Erika Gabrielli, Sr. Marketing Director at Teva. “Gold’s independent spirit, visionary design and nostalgia for the brand are transparent in the final product of this collection and demonstrate our belief in the importance of true artistic creativity and individuality in any and all forms.”

The sandals themselves are playful, their straps adorned with a bold red and blue glider pattern. The print was inspired by movement, with the shoes embodying a momentum that propels the wearer forward.

In addition to the exciting graphic, the Benny Gold Teva Sandal features an adjustable webbing upper, hook and loop closure, a soft leather footbed and a durable rubber outer sole. It retails for $60.

As with past Artist Series collections, this collaboration will help to support the next generation of artists and creators with 10% of each shoe purchase going to P.S. ARTS, an organization dedicated to providing arts education for kids.

“When I was in high school one of my first jobs was at a shoe store where I sold a lot of Teva sandals,” said Benny Gold. “I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for Teva, so when they approached me about partnering with them to design a limited-edition sandal, it felt like everything came full circle from my childhood.”

Along with the sandal, the Benny Gold collection also includes a long sleeve tee, a pair of socks and a limited edition print of the glider pattern.

Viberg debuts authentic N-1 Field Boots
Viberg N1 Field Boots

If you consider yourself a history buff with your Netflix history full of World War II documentaries and "Band of Brothers" on repeat, then we've got your next shoe purchase from Viberg ready to go. But first, a little backstory. N-1 Field Shoes were often called "boondockers" which originated from the Tagalog word "bundok" meaning mountain. They became a crucial part of the American military uniform during World War II, and were specifically designed for the U.S. Navy.
N-1 Field Shoes: A history

The N-1 Field Shoes were exceptionally sturdy, made from steer hide suede, and hand treated with dubbin to give them water resistance and durability. They featured a rubber and cord sole that gave them excellent traction in various terrains and were extremely practical in harsh conditions, both combat and weather-wise. In the past, the soles were made from recycled car tires and surplus nylon, which was a strategy implemented to conserve resources during wartime material shortages. They remained popular after the war, and are highly sought after by collectors due to their historical significance.

With a 38.2mm stainless steel case and sapphire crystal caseback, this timepiece is sleek and modern. However, it’s the silver white with tarmac texture and polka dot pattern on the dial that gives it its character. Complete with a checkered finish line pattern on the rotor visible through the clear caseback, this watch does contain symbols of the sport.
