In the realm of luxury watches, Bell & Ross holds a unique place. The brand is renowned for its meticulous craftsmanship and innovative designs, which have consistently pushed the boundaries of watchmaking. One of their most iconic watches, the Bell & Ross BR-03, recently underwent a significant update, marking a milestone in its nearly two-decade history.

Founded in 1992 by Bruno Belamich and Carlos A. Rosillo, Bell & Ross quickly gained recognition for its dedication to producing professional timepieces tailored to specific needs. Their watches are often inspired by aviation and military aesthetics, characterized by a perfect blend of form and function. Over the years, the Bell & Ross BR-03 has become a symbol of precision and reliability, earning its place among the finest luxury watches.

The timeless design of the BR 03

The Bell & Ross BR 03 has always been celebrated for its distinctive square case design, paying homage to cockpit instruments. Its robust and bold appearance sets it apart from traditional round watches, and the BR 03 has been a favorite among those who appreciate a timepiece that makes a statement. The signature square case, clear numerals, and luminescent hands make it not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly legible.

The evolution of the BR 03 Bell & Ross watch has brought significant enhancements to its design and operation. One notable change is the reduction in case size, transitioning from a 42mm case to a sleeker 41mm in the new BR 03 Automatic. This modification aligns with contemporary preferences for slightly smaller and more versatile timepieces while preserving the iconic square shape that characterizes Bell & Ross watches. Another significant improvement lies within the watch’s movement. While the previous model featured reliable automatic movement, the new version boasts a more refined and precise mechanism.

The Bell & Ross BR 03 comes in three colors

Powered by automatic movement, the BR 03 offers precise timekeeping while coming in an array of super sleek colors.

  1. Black Matte: The Matte Black variant of the BR 03 watch exudes a sense of stealth and sophistication. With a matte black case and matching dial, this version of the watch is often associated with a sleek and modern aesthetic. It’s a popular choice for those who appreciate a bold and understated look.
  2. Phantom: Similar to the Matte Black but with black numerals as well, this watch face exudes an air of mystery, giving off major Batman vibes.
  3. Military Ceramic: The Military Ceramic option features a green dial and strap reminiscent of military aesthetics. This color choice adds a touch of ruggedness and adventure to the watch, making it suitable for those who are drawn to outdoor activities and exploration.

Whether you’re a watch enthusiast or someone looking for a timepiece that blends utility and visual appeal, the BR 03 is a remarkable choice that combines contemporary design with a rich legacy of craftsmanship. What distinguishes the BR 03 is the unmistakable Bell & Ross DNA ingrained in every facet of its design. The rugged yet stylish exterior, legible dials, and robust build make it a preferred choice among individuals with a penchant for adventure. Whether you’re a globetrotter or an urban explorer, this watch is a reliable companion that ensures you’re punctual while exuding an air of unpredictability.

The pre-owned luxury watch market is down, but prices for these 2 Rolexes are up
Rolex GMT Master II Pepsi

According to the Bloomberg Subdial Watch Index, which tracks the 50 most traded luxury watches, the pre-owned luxury watch market moved down around 0.1% last month, marking the sign of a patient market that wants more. This isn't necessarily surprising —the index has fallen 8.7% in the past year. But there are a couple of Rolex watches that are bucking the trend: the Rolex Starbucks and the Rolex Pepsi, which gained 3.2% and 3.3%, respectively.

The overall stagnation of the watch market can have various factors, including anticipation for newer releases. External factors like economic and geopolitical conflicts have also affected the way consumers choose to purchase watches. Prices soared during the pandemic, so a leveling out at some point was expected.

This new Cartier watch tells time backwards
Turn back time with the new Santos
Cartier Rewind on wrist

Wristwatches may be distinctly masculine pieces of hardware now, thanks to some very popular people in pop culture and in our own history adopting them. British super spy James Bond, movie stars, and athletes are the people we look up to who wear watches that catch our eye. Soldiers, cops, firefighters, and first responders wear watches they trust to ensure they can save lives. Pilots and divers created an entire industry around watches specifically designed for their vocations. And the very first pilot's watch was none other than a Cartier watch.

Alberto Santos-Dumont was a pioneer in the flight world and was one of the first people on Earth to achieve air travel. He was a competitor of the Wright Brothers, and, depending on the source, he preceded them in flight. In any case, the French celebrity went to Louis Cartier, another pioneer of his craft, and procured a square timekeeper meant for the wrist. The Cartier Santos Dumont was born. Over a century later, Cartier attended Watches and Wonders and presented the newest in the line of Santos watches, one that reverses time.

New Breitling watch has a balloon piece from the first global non-stop flight
Breitling adds new Orbiter 3 to Aerospace collection
Breitling balloon over mountains

Breitling has popped the champagne corks, thrown the confetti, and introduced a new watch to the Aerospace collection to commemorate their 140th anniversary. The Aerospace B70 Orbiter was made to honor the extraordinary achievements of Bertrand Piccard and Brian Jones. The pair landed in Egypt on March 21, 1999, after piloting the Breitling Orbiter 3 balloon in the world's first nonstop flight. During the flight, they covered an astounding 45,633 kilometers over a period of 19 days, 21 hours, and 47 minutes (if you're using your watch to count). The Aerospace B70 Orbiter was made not just to celebrate Breitling but also to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the groundbreaking feat.

The dial is bright orange and despite the fact that it's supposed to represent the mission logo on the flight, it actually looks as if it would fit right in on a Formula 1 race track; basically, it works in any world where human beings are achieving massively daring feats. It comes with a titanium bracelet or a black rubber strap, so you can go sporty or classy, depending on the occasion.
Technical specifications
Within the Aerospace B70 Orbiter is the COSC-certified Breitling Manufacture Caliber B70, a SuperQuartz™ movement famed for its accuracy. This SuperQuartz™ movement is 10 times more precise than standard quartz and powers several features made for pilots, those in the aviation world, and those who are just big fans of it. This Breitling watch features a 1/100th of a second chronograph with split-time and flyback functions, a countdown timer, second timezone, two alarms, a lap function, and a perpetual calendar.
