In a power outage, having one of the best portable power stations around will come in real handy. They tend to be expensive, but the peace of mind is worth it because during emergencies you can keep your most important gear running — whether that’s your appliances, a television or radio for news updates, or lights. They’re also the perfect energy source while you’re camping or exploring the great outdoors. You may think you already have all of the best camping gear, or best road trip gear, but if you don’t have a power source packed away, you’re not fully equipped.

There is a new portable power station on the block — or, at least, there will be soon. The

EcoFlow DELTA Pro

is a portable home battery and power station designed to keep an entire home powered for up to a week for emergency use. It puts out enough power to support appliances and electronics. It easily connects with Smart Extra Batteries, Solar Panels, Solar Trackers, Smart Generators, and a Smart Home Panel to extend functionality. You have an opportunity to get a steep discount on the portable battery, thanks to the Kickstarter campaign. It will retail for $3,599, but you can grab it for $600 off, which is $2,999.

The EcoFlow DELTA Pro portable home battery is a dual-purpose energy-delivery device. It’s a home battery, storing energy that’s generated through various means, but it’s also a portable power station to provide power to your home, RV, small living space, or whatever you need. You could set up lights all over your campsite, and connect them to this beast. A single unit has a base capacity of 3.6kWh of energy, but can be expanded to 25kWh with the additions of Smart Extra Batteries, Smart Generators, and a Smart Home Panel — enough to power an entire family’s needs for emergency use for up to a week. It can sustain air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, electronics, and much more. You can pair or sync up multiple units to increase the energy capacity if you need it.

The best part is that it employs unique FlowCharge multi-charge technology, so you can power it up using solar, Level 2 AC EV charging stations, wind turbines, and regular AC wall outlets. You can even charge it through a DC car charging port like you’d find inside your vehicle or RV. By outfitting the EcoFlow with additions — like Smart Batteries, Solar Panels, and more — it can be personalized, creating a more comprehensive system.

A single unit is available at a discount through Kickstarter right now for $600 off the retail price — which will be $3,599. That means you can get one for $2,999, with estimated delivery between September and October. If you’d like to learn more you can head on over to the Kickstarter page.

Why the EcoFlow DELTA Pro Is Perfect for Camping and Outdoors

While the DELTA Pro can absolutely power an entire home for up to a week for emergency use, what’s most exciting is the unit’s portability. A telescopic handle extends out from the side of the unit, making it easy to move around, especially with the large wheels. Since you can charge it up at EV stations, with standard AC outlets, and also DC outlets, there are a bevy of options to keep the DELTA Pro juiced up while you’re on the open road. The relatively compact form factor makes it easy to stow or bring along on trips, too!

You can also use renewable energy to charge the system. For example, with the right solar panels, and DELTA Pro’s wide voltage range — from 11 to 150 volts — charging time takes anywhere from 4 to 8 hours. That’s a quick rest stop!

3 things I wish I knew before buying my first mountain bike
3 considerations for buying a mountain bike
Opening and beginning to build the Canyon Spectral CF 8

I bought my first mountain bike in the early 2000s. Back then, there weren’t as many mountain bike options, and they certainly were not nearly as expensive. I worked an entire summer and spent the entire $750 on a new mountain bike.

Fast forward to 2021, and I was getting back into the sport after a long hiatus. Mountain bikes had changed significantly—for the better—and I was quickly playing catch-up. One thing that had certainly changed in the nearly two decades since I purchased my first mountain bike was the price.

Best 4th of July grill deals: Save on Traeger, Blackstone and more
An opened Classic Joe III with food cooking, from Kamado Joe.

Are you ready for the full intensity of the summer ahead? We can already predict that this summer will be hotter than usual, but that also means that it will likely feel longer. As a result, there are going to be more evenings and, later, great autumn days to be outside and spend time with our families. At least, that's what we hope. Taking advantage of 4th of July grill deals, then, will be an excellent way to celebrate. Whether you're looking for traditional grills and smokers, charcoal grills, or even gas grills, there are great deals to take advantage of right now. The following are our favorite for this season.
Coleman 4-in-1 Portable Propane Camping Stove — $70, was $125

This one is a bit tinier than the rest, with only a 100 square inch cooking surface, but its got a price and versatility level to match. With a tripod base and a small 14.4 x 10.5 x 13.9 inch body, you can easily take this will you and set it up on any bench. It has versatile cooking modes that include a grill, grill, wok, and even stove. It's recommend for groups up to four, but with a bit of raw veg and good drinks, we're sure you have the ingenuity to stretch the meal to five or six. This is not an advanced grill, but it doesn't have to be if you're looking to be on the go.

Home Depot 4th of July Sale 2024: Best home and garden deals
The Magic Chef 27-lbs Countertop Ice Maker next to iced drinks.

The 4th of July marks America's Independence. For adults, who haven't been firmly out of school for several weeks by the approach of the holiday, it also marks a sort of in-your-face realization that summer is truly and actually here. And for manufacturers and retailers, it marks one of the best times to attract customers to buy things for the outdoors. That could mean the best Blackstone cooker, a different 4th of July grill deal, or even an outdoor Jackery solar power generator. Yet it could also be the time to finally get one of the best cordless drills and start your wireless, battery-powered power tool collection off to a good start. Whatever your plans this summer, you should know that Home Depot is having a pretty massive sale to celebrate. Here are the home and garden deals that you should be on the lookout for to get your summer moving.
Magic Chef 27 lbs. Portable Countertop Ice Maker — $99, was $159

It's summer, and if you haven't used your refrigerator's ice maker in awhile, you may notice that it's pretty yucky smelling at the start of the season, slow, and extremely non-portable. This stainless steel ice maker goes with you and starts making ice fast, very much unlike sticking a try in the freezer. Just put some water into it and within the next seven minutes you'll have your first nine cubes. Not 27-pounds itself (that refers to the weight of ice it could, theoretically, make in a day with constant use) this little ice maker is a mere 12.1 x 9.5 x 14.1 inches (HWD), making it perfect for small spaces.
