TCDL 2025: Call for Planning Committee Members

The Texas Digital Library (TDL) team is now seeking Planning Committee members for our annual conference, the Texas Conference on Digital Libraries (TCDL), taking place May 20-22, 2025 at the Commons Conference Center in Austin, TX.

TCDL is a gathering place for the Texas library and archives community to share and learn about research, practice, and advocacy in digital libraries and digital archives. The conference provides opportunities for faculty, students, researchers, librarians, administrators, policymakers, advocates, and others to share expertise and network through various types of presentations, panels, workshops, and informal discussions. All are invited and welcome to participate.

We are seeking support in the following areas:

  • Full Committee – Committee members develop the conference theme and call for proposals; serve as session moderator at the conference; volunteer for on-site support roles during conference; and provide feedback after conference. Committee members sit on at least one additional subcommittee (see below). Ad hoc teams may be created as needed to complete special tasks, including promotions, sponsorship, and scholarship facilitation. Work begins in September and continues through June.
  • Awards – Subcommittee members solicit TDL Awards nominations; review nominations; select recipients; communicate with nominators, nominees, and recipients; and assist with award proofs, ceremony, and announcements. Work begins in September and continues through June.
  • Posters – Subcommittee members create the slide deck and scavenger hunt resources, set up the poster area, select a member to moderate poster session and scavenger hunt, select gifts for scavenger hunt winners, and communicate with poster presenters. Work begins in September and continues through the conference in May.
  • Speaker & Local Support – Subcommittee members facilitate speaker support; assist with maintaining conference schedule and details in Sched; secure and coordinate volunteers, including TDL staff, for at-conference tasks; coordinate on-site signage, staffing of the registration desk; and coordinate photographer and ASL interpreter. Work begins in November and continues through the conference in May.
  • Swag & Networking – Subcommittee members develop experiences and/or physical items and ways to connect attendees. The subcommittee is encouraged to find swag items with a low carbon footprint and/or items that may be reused for future conferences. Work begins in November and continues through the conference in May.
  • Post-Conference – Subcommittee members develop and promote the post-conference survey, draft the post-conference report, and facilitate conference proceedings. Work begins in March and continues through June/July.

The TCDL Planning Committee is composed of representatives from TDL member institutions. Join us using the form below. Deadline: Friday, July 26 at 5 p.m. CDT
