During a survey among chief marketing officers (CMOs) from for-profit companies in the United States concluded in August 2023, they reported that, on average, their marketing spending increased by 2.6 percent during the past 12 months. Respondents also expected the expenditure to grow by 7.2 percent in the following 12 months. According to the same study, little more than nine percent of companies' revenues were allocated to marketing activities as of August 2023.
