In 2022, the number of tourists and day visitors entering Israel increased significantly, and tourists from abroad reached 2.6 million. This rise resulted from abolishing the governmental Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions. Between 2016 and 2019, there was a significant increase in the number of international tourists and day visitors in Israel. This incline might result from an intensive advertising campaign for tourism in Israel and the hosting of a big European event, Eurovision 2019, in Tel Aviv. Most tourists in Israel arrive from North America and Europe. Many tourists come from the USA, France, Great Britain, and Germany. In 2022, the number of tourists from the USA in Israel reached 858,500. This was a significant increase compared to the previous year.
Tel Aviv is an international tourism hotspot

Tel Aviv is known for its vibrant nightlife, beautiful beaches, and thriving culinary scene. Therefore, many tourists from abroad stay in the city as part of a trip to Israel. In addition, the city is well-known among LGBTQ+ travelers who join the pride celebrations held in Tel Aviv every year in June. In 2022, the nnumber of foreign guests in tourist hotels in Tel Aviv amounted to 737,700. This was a significant increase compared to the previous year. In the same year, the number of tourists in hotels in Jerusalem was slightly lower than in Tel Aviv and stood at 673,600. The city includes historical and religious sites of great importance, but its traditional character may deter some travelers.
