2024 General Election Search Tracker

Rishi Sunak stood in the pouring rain outside 10 Downing Street yesterday, May 22nd, and announced that the UK would be heading to the polls on July 4th to elect a ruling political party.

Our Covid search trackers during lockdowns proved just how insightful daily search data can be during times of national turmoil and, more pertinently, analysis of search behaviour by Seth Stephens-Davidowitz (a hero of ours and a Search Listening pioneer – go read Everybody Lies if you haven’t already!) in the lead up to US elections has previously more accurately predicted the outcome versus traditional polls.

So, we’re planning to get back to tracking as polling day edges ever closer. Check back here daily to see which party is driving the most searches and what some of those searches are.

Which party is generating the most searches?

We’ve looked at search interest around 5 of the key political parties. The data shows averaged daily indexed search interest in each party and will update each day.
