BRASS SHOPKEEPER'S DOOR BELL. New old stock. This wonderful antique style doorbell lets you know when someone enters or leaves your shop, office or home. Makes a great dinner bell too! Features a 3" BRASS BELL with braided rope and brass clapper, screwed onto a black wrought iron arm, which easily mounts to the door frame by the brass bracket and two included brass mounting screws. Measures 4 ¼" long from the top of the arm to the bottom edge of the bell (7 ½" long to the bottom of the rope) x 5" deep projection from front to back, on a ¾" wide arm. Please visit our Etsy shop at: https://livingezee.etsy.com Mounting Instructions: The arm of the bell should be mounted to the top of the door frame, high enough that when the door opens and closes it hits the rope causing the brass clapper to ring the bell, but not long enough that it catches the rope in the door. You don't want to hit the bell to ring, only the bottom of the rope. Just hold it up to the frame and find that spot before mounting to be sure where it fits the best for your door. This type of shopkeeper's bell is not made for slow opening doors, the door must be able to swing open freely in order to make strong enough contact with the rope to ring the bell.
