Walter Crane tiles, Flora's Train. By 1900, Art Nouveau had a strong foothold in the decorative arts, building on the Arts & Crafts philosophy of William Morris and the Pre-Raphaelites. Walter Crane, a professional and political collaborator of William Morris, designed six flower tiles, entitled 'Flora's Train' for Pinklington Tile and Pottery Company in 1900. The six flower tile are: Anemone, Columbine, Daffodil, Cornflower, Bluebell, and Poppy.

Walter Crane (1845–1915) was an English artist and book illustrator. He is considered to be the most prolific and influential children’s book creator of his generation and, along with Randolph Caldecott and Kate Greenaway. His work featured some of the more colourful and detailed beginnings of the child-in-the-garden motifs that would characterise many nursery rhymes and children's stories for decades to come.
