When we take things personally, there's more going on than we can see on the surface. If most of your thoughts are about the impression you make on someone else, it's likely that's the majority of their thoughts too. It takes a lot of effort just to make goals & try to keep ourselves together in this life. No one has the time to be thinking about other people that often. The truth is, people are mostly thinking about themselves just to get by. Just like you are.
