Description References: [link] [link] These sketches were photoreferenced (it's still a great tool for learning) but the final piece they were preparing me for was not referenced. I found the coloured pigeons were easier to draw than the white one. Somehow the markings on the wings make it much easier to show the contours of the forms, whereas with the white one it all relies on very careful shading. And I had to be careful not to make it too dark or it wouldn't look like a white animal.
