Easy Summer Art Activity
I will break down this project into easy steps with pictures to help you with this activity. Below you will find all the steps broken down and explained. Sometimes, we teach during the summer—summer school, enrichment programs, camps, etc. But, no matter what you are doing, including a little art in your summer plans is something that will make all participants happy! And this cool, citrusy, summer art activity is perfect for you and your kids!
Easy Clay Gift - Clay Kabobs for Plants
Kids love to make things in clay. However, if you are a classroom teacher or an art teacher (or parent), it’s hard to make clay items that are large as it uses a lot of supplies—clay, glazes, etc. This leaves you looking for engaging and creative clay activities that only use a small amount of clay. My easy clay project: Clay Kabobs, is just what you are looking for! They make amazing final gifts!

Marbleized Paper Technique for Kids!
I have been making marbleized paper using shaving cream since 2006. I have done this lesson hundreds of times – literally. I’ve used it with preschool children to adults. I’ve made small paper projects, and I’ve even used large carts to make a huge batch of marbleized paper. It is always a fan favorite. It might look messy, but it’s so worth the mess – trust me! The nice thing about this project is that it dries fast. By the time kids get cleaned up, it’s dry enough to take home that day.

Paper Collage Activity for Kids!
To begin, instruct your students to take their scissors, pick up their paper, and start cutting. It’s as simple as that to start. Some might already have an idea of what they want their picture to look like. Encourage children to have fun with the paper, pick lots of colors, cut their shapes, and adjust as they go. Each child will develop their own methods and processes. I like to have conversations with my students about how it is fun to make art – without the pressure of the final result.

Creativity Starter Idea to Reuse Old Posters and Make New Art
I’ve used this “finish the picture” idea in so many different ways over the years…and here is another excellent idea. If you have any of my collaboration posters. You can use them (when you are finished displaying them) as a creativity starter, using my “finish the picture” idea. When you are finished displaying one of my collaboration posters, you can take the poster apart and give out the pieces to your students. Have them create new artworks inspired by the piece they were given.
