PC server

An x86-based computer that is used as a shared machine in the network. PC servers are increasingly more powerful with multiple CPU cores and features that years ago were only found on mainframes. Large datacenters may contain thousands and even tens of thousands of x86-based servers. See server, PC and SMP.
