A stored location for quick retrieval at a later date. Many electronic references, large text databases and help systems provide bookmarks that mark a location users want to revisit in the future. All Web browsers enable bookmarks to be created, which are the addresses (URLs) of favorite sites or pages within a site. See Favorites, bookmark portal and bookmarklet.
Horizontal Bookmarks
This Chrome browser example shows the bookmarks bar displayed horizontally for quick reference. Because there is limited room rendered left to right, names are abbreviated to keep more options visible at all times. The arrow points to YouTube, the currently selected site, and the CLC folder icon is a menu with many more bookmarks.
Vertical Bookmarks
This Vivaldi browser example has a vertical bookmark option, allowing many Web pages to be visible with descriptive names. The arrow points to the Parallels website, which is currently selected.
