Best stats for Poleblade of the Bud in Elden Ring

The Poleblade of the Bud in Shadow of the Erdtree scales with three stats: Strength, Dexterity, and Arcane. When fully upgraded, the Halberd has an E in Strength, D in Dexterity, and B in Arcane. With that in mind, your main focus should be to invest points into Arcane, and then move over to Dexterity when you begin to see a falloff in increased damage. I recommend going up to 80 in Arcane, and then 30 in Dexterity.

I wouldn’t worry about investing too much into Strength besides reaching the mandatory level 14 to wield the weapon. Make sure you’re also investing in Vigor and Mind to help with health and the ability to cast the weapon’s unique skill “Romina’s Putrification.”

Best Talisman for Poleblade of the Bud

There are plenty of Talisman that the player could choose to bring out the Poleblade of the Bud’s undeniable potential. There are four that I would personally recommend. Below you’ll find the four best Talisman for this Halberd, as well as their effects and where to find them.

  • Kindred of Rot’s Exultation: Raises attack power by 20% for 20 seconds when Poisoning or Rot occurs in the vicinity. (Dropped by Kindred of Rot in the Seethewater Cave).
  • Shard of Alexander: Greatly boosts the attack power of skills. (Dropped by Iron Fist Alexander at the end of his questline).
  • Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman: Enormously boosts physical damage negation. (Found in a chest in the Haligtree).
  • Cerulean Seed Talisman +1: Greatly boosts FP restoration from Flask of Cerulean Tears. (Sound the hanging bell in Finger Ruins of Dheo).

The combination above benefits your defense, FP restoration, and damage output. First, and most important, we have Kindred’s Rot of Exultation. Considering the Poleblade of the Bud causes Scarlet Rot buildup, equipping the Kindred’s Rot of Exultation Talisman will allow you to deal more damage when you inflict Scarlet Rot in the area.

The Shard of Alexander Talisman is always a solid choice when using a weapon that has a unique skill as it increases the strength of the skill and the amount of damage inflicted. The Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman should be used on any build, mainly because it is the best defensive option in the game. Lastly, Cerulean Seed Talisman +1 will make it so you rarely run out of FP and always have enough to use Romina’s Putrification.

Best armor for Poleblade of the Bud

The only armor piece I’d recommend for a Poleblade of the Bud build is the Mushroom Crown. The best thing about the Mushroom Crown is that it has a buff that increases damage by 10% for 20 seconds when an enemy suffers from Scarlet Rot. This headpiece combined with the Kindred’s of Rot Exultation will make the Poleblade of the Bud deal an insane amount of damage, especially when using its unique skill. You can find the Mushroom Crown on a corpse in the Lake of Rot.

The rest of the armor set is up to you really, although it would be best to pick pieces that increase health, endurance, or damage. The Rakshasha Armor set is a solid choice since it increases damage dealt to foes, but be cautious as it also increases damage taken. Or, you could pick the Gaurdian Garb which increases HP recovery effects from your flask.

Hopefully this guide has helped you create a powerful build for the challenging bosses in Elden Ring. Check out more of our Remembrance weapon build guides for Shadow of the Erdtree. We have build guides on the Gazing Finger and Putrescence Cleaver.
