It's been a tough time for Rebekah Vardy after being catapulted into the celebrity court case of the decade - the infamous and so-called Wagatha Christie dispute in 2022 - when she sued fellow WAG Coleen Rooney for libel.

Coleen, 38, had accused the Leicester City WAG - who she described as “someone who I trusted” - of “consistently informing” a national newspaper about things she’d been posting on her private social media account. Rebekah then sued Coleen for libel, but the High Court judge ruled in Coleen’s favour and said her claim about the leak was “substantially true”.

Since the court case concluded two years ago, the 42 year old I'm a Celeb star has largely kept a low profile - but now she could be set for a shocking comeback.

"It's no secret that Rebekah has been battling with what the public think of her," a source exclusively told OK!. "She's throwing her name in the hat for everything in order to win them back. But she'll need to work hard at it after they lost faith."

Now, almost two years on from the trial, Rebekah - who is mum to Megan, 19, and Taylor, 14, from her previous marriage - and shares Sofia, eight, Finley, seven, and three-year-old Olivia with husband Jamie Vardy, is reportedly keen to close the door on the scandal once and for all.

"Rebekah doesn't see Coleen as a problem anymore, she wants to move forward and is hoping a reality TV show will help her achieve that, in particular Celebrity Big Brother," the source continued. "She's looking into different projects, and a show like CBB would help rebrand herself and give her the chance for a fresh start.

"She also thinks Celebrity SAS is another one for the public to see the 'real' her and could help win them back."

And industry insiders have also predicted that not only could a reality show be the ticket but so could a tell-all book. Brand and culture expert Nick Ede believes she is on the verge of a bombshell comeback with him saying: "Rebekah Vardy has known for a long time that it will be difficult to make a comeback - so if she does, it needs to be a big one.

"She's quite a polarising person and, after losing the court case, she wasn't particularly favourable to the British public. I think a good way to win them back would be a bombshell book. She could talk about her experiences, open up on a more personal level and perhaps admit to some wrong-doing.

"A tell-all book would also mean people can get to know her again away from the court case. I think that would be the best way forward for her."

The industry guru also gave some insight into how Rebekah could work on changing the public's perception of her. "Another project she could do is charity work - a lot of celebrities who have sort of fallen by the wayside often do charity work.

"She could put her passions into something good, perhaps a children-related charity or set up a foundation that supports people. This could be a way to reshape public perception and look towards redeeming herself."

But Rebekah needs to play her cards right, so what should she do next? Well, according to Nick, her next move won't include a documentary.

Rebekah could be set for The Traitors

"A documentary is unlikely to be on the cards because that's what Coleen did - she got in there first. Reality TV, however - although Rebekah has a few stints under her belt already - could really be an option for her. Celebrity Big Brother, for example, like having a controversial character and someone who isn't afraid to say what they think. This would be a way for Rebekah to showcase her personality after everything that's happened.

"However, if I was a casting agent, I would put her on the celebrity version of The Traitors. That would be a fantastic booking. When you're a celebrity who is hoping to make a comeback as big as this, you can't look at a fashion range or a children's book because you're not sure if that fan base is still there."

It sounds like only time will tell...
