Nokia ranked at top of GigaOm report on security software market for second straight year

24 April 2024
Espoo, Finland – Nokia today announced that its extended detection response market (XDR) security platform, NetGuard Cybersecurity Dome, has been ranked a second straight year at the top of an industry assessment by analysts at GigaOm. A copy of the report is available here.

Nokia’s XDR platform provides communication service providers (CSPs) and enterprises with 5G network defenses through AI and machine learning capabilities. These are delivered in a hybrid-cloud, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment via a usage-based subscription.

“Nokia's classification as an Outperformer in the Maturity/Platform Play quadrant results from its extensive experience in the telecom sector and comprehensive approach to security,” according to GigaOm’s report, which analyzes the relative value and progression of vendor solutions based on strategy and execution.

NetGuard Cybersecurity Dome allows security operations teams to select from a wide range of use cases to secure their critical infrastructure, including core, transport, and RAN. These use cases detect network threats and provide predefined actions for security incidents and remediation management.

The solution is also now integrated with a GenAI assistant that helps CSPs and enterprises reduce the time it takes to identify and resolve a threat by up to 50 percent, depending on the nature of a cyberattack.

The XDR security market is projected to grow by nearly 150% in the coming years, from $965 million in 2022 to around $2.4 billion by 2027, according to industry estimates.

Chris Ray, Analyst at GigaOm, said: “Nokia demonstrates clarity in its vision and features with its highly capable and flexible XDR platform. This solution includes the ability to collect data from a diverse set of sources, a powerful automation engine, and intuitive dashboards and reporting; all of which point to Nokia’s ability to constantly evolve to meet the dynamic needs of its customers in today’s cybersecurity landscape.”

Rodrigo Brito, Head of Security, Cloud and Network Services at Nokia, said: “We are very pleased to be recognized once again with this market position. It reflects not only Nokia’s leading technology capabilities but also reinforces why customers are entrusting us to support them to thwart cybersecurity attacks on their mission-critical operations.”
