Walnut Creek Reviews
Rating 4.15 out of 5 209 reviews
Living in Walnut Creek is very peaceful and provides a very healthy lifestyle. The city is clean, and well-kept, and has many local attractions including shops, malls, restaurants, coffee shops, and farmers markets. Due to its many different resources, grocery stores, restaurants, clothing shops, etc, living in Walnut Creek allows you to walk everywhere you need. The downside to such a nice city is the expensive living and lifestyle.
Walnut Creek is a perfect mix of living in nature while still being close to Shopping centers. There are many open spaces and hiking trails, including the famous Mt. Diablo. Deer can be seen wandering peoples front yards along with turkeys, bobcats, and lots of squirrels. Smaller shopping centers like Encina and Orchards house grocery stores and restaurants, while larger areas like Broadway Plaza and the downtown Walnut Creek area have a mix of nicer restaurants, takeout places, clothing stores, department stores, and even some high end stores. Walnut Creek is a few hours drive away from San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, and Napa Valley. It has quite good schools and a variety of public and private. It is also nearby Diablo Valley College, Cal State East Bay, St. Marys College, UC Berkley, and UC Davis. Walnut Creek has strong community bonds, with quite a lot of generational households. There are many things that make up the community in Walnut Creek and make it so wonderfull.
Overall experience has been so-so. The people I've encountered are a bit rude and there's not that many great restaurants to choose from. I think coming from a person who's still in their 20's, it's a bit hard to live here as this city is more catered for families.
