Current Resident: Arlington Virginia is simply the best of the best in the entire Washington DC area, and well beyond the DC area in my opinion. First and perhaps foremost, the city was designed with the metro stops in mind. Getting anywhere on public transportation is incredibly easy. In these clusters around each and every metro stop, you will find wonderful places to eat, housing, excellent places of employment and great shopping. There are parks galore and everyone seems to be enjoying where they live. The vibe is one of a vibrant city where there is lots to do. There is a reason that Arlington is considered the most desirable place to live in the area. Arlington, along with Alexandria, are the only two areas around Washington DC that feel like real cities; so much more than just bedroom communities that you find on the other side of the river. Nearby Resident: Chesterbrook is not the community it used to be. The Township allowed much denser development in a large section that was once a larger shopping center featuring a supermarket. This section is the opposite in zoning which featured abundant green space in each development. Cheap 3 story construction will look like hell in 20 years. Current Resident: I think that the public senior highschool quality is the most important factor for evaluating a community. There are four top senior highschools in Cinco Ranch/Katy, West suburb of Houston, Texas. There is no any other similar size city with population around 100, 000 would have more top public senior highschools than Katy. This is why I moved in this greatest living place from another good place, a college town, Davis, California where l had lived two decades. It is the safest place to live. I have never had any safety issue since l live here. I also noticed that some nightlife reviews with less Stars. I wanted to let people know that there are several dance schools in Katy. The schools not only teach Ballroom, Latin, Country and Line dance lessons, but also host dance parties. There is the nation largest bar, Whiskey River West with hosting hundreds even over ten hundreds at night. It offers free country, Latin & Line dance lessons before party. Current Resident: This neighborhood is on the edge of Downtown Tampa. It has a mix of Single Family Homes, Apartments, Townhomes, and Multi-Families. It's called Spanish Town Creek /Hyde Park after both the original developer of the area and Spanish Town Creek Waterway. Due to development over the years, the waterway has been covered up and it a now a subterranean creek. It was one of the first developed areas in Tampa. Near Univerity of Tampa, Bayshore, and Downtown. We have lived here several years and it is very safe with access to all A schools from elementary to High School and 15-minute walk to downtown. Spanishtown Creek, an area near where occupied by Spanish speaking fishermen during the era of Spanish control of La Florida before Fort Brooke was established. Spanishtown is believed to have been established in the mid to late-18th century. Levi Collar, the first known Anglo settler arrived in the area ca. 1820. Former Resident: After living in midtown Manhattan for ten years, we lived in the Belvedere Condominium for five years on Oak Street. If you are making $175K + this is a decent place to live, but not a lot to do at night, but you can Uber to Georgetown or Old Town. There are only a few good restaurants within walking distance but being near the Metro, Safeway, and Target is great. There was a mugging on Oak and I saw a car vandalized - both of which happen in NYC, so rather surprised that the safety rating is so high. The Belvedere is not anything like a Manhattan doorman building (staff is arrogant & rude) but it covered all the amenities we needed: David’s small store/dry cleaners in the building, parking, pool/gym. If you want to get home quickly after work/near DCA this is your location. Getting a job here is extremely difficult for professional women over 45, so it was time for us to go when I hit my expiration date. Current Resident: I have called Blue Ash home going on 20 years. After my divorce, I kept the house (which we are currently living in) because it's in BA. I wanted my son to stay in Sycamore schools. Plus, we love the Rec Center and what they are doing at Summit Park and now "downtown." When we moved in, we'd have the cute airplanes flying over our house, but I much prefer all that Summit now has to offer. I can't tell you how many times one of my stepkids or my son has left our house unlocked or left the garage door open, and we've never had so much as a package go missing. I feel very safe everywhere I go in BA. We are lucky to have some great establishments as well - I'm at Pipkin's and Park Pour all the time and have many friends at 49 Hundred. Plus, we have some nice free services like the leaf pick-up, the medicine giveback at the police station, etc. And boy, they do a fabulous job of clearing the streets! Current Resident: Coppell schools are excellent. One of the few in the area that serve both GT and special needs. They also do a good job of mainstreaming kids so that everyone grows up with compassion. I have had three houses here in 26 years. All were great investments due to strong fundamentals: great location, high quality of life, and responsive, sane local government. It is also an easy commute to most of the metroplex, so it is good for work for couples. We have also avoided the crazy politics that has plagued and divided other communities.
