Beaverton is a great area to raise a family and is shown by the different neighborhoods that have their own niches. The food here is fantastic!
Beaverton has the potential for so much more but currently is very suburban with very few public places for residents to occupy. It is not walkable (car-dependent), and is scary for bicyclists. Beaverton knows what it can be, but the steps it is taking are minuscule.
It was a cool place to grow up, not so busy or dangerous the way Portland is. Has lots to do and is still close to nature. Lots of schools and playgrounds, good restaurants. Decent places to work. I'd like to see the road construction move along quicker, it's not as helpful.
