Love Island star Samantha Kenny’s mum took a brutal swipe at Joey Essex after her daughter was booted from the villa last night.

The make-up artist from Liverpool was dumped from the island on Tuesday after another recoupling took place. She had previously been in a couple with The Only Way Is Essex star Joey, but he was stolen by new bombshell – and his ex-girlfriend – Grace Jackson.

When none of the other lads picked Sam to couple up with, she was told she would have to leave the villa. Grace, knowing she may have been responsible for her departure, attempted to apologise but this fell on deaf ears as Samantha "didn't want to hear it." Joey then attempted to bury the hatchet as Sam packed her things, but she shut down, refusing to acknowledge anything he had to say.

Viewers at home – who aren’t happy with the way Joey has treated Sam – have since pleaded for Sam to return as a surprise bombshell and insisted the ‘wrong Islander’ was dumped. And it seems one person that did have something to say was Sam’s mum!

In a now-deleted comment on social media, Sam’s mum Lynne Kenny appeared to take aim at Joey and reportedly wrote: “You ruined my daughter’s two weeks in the villa,” followed by a broken heart emoji. The picture she commented on was one of Joey looking glum on the outdoor sofa, according to Closer magazine who managed to screenshot the comment before it was deleted. It is not known if it was Lynne herself or the Love Island team who swiftly removed it, but it was apparently the top comment for a while and gained over 1,000 likes.

Demanding Sam is put back in the villa, viewers at home took to X, formerly known as Twitter. "Petition for Samantha to be in the next bombshell group," one viewer commented, while another echoed: "Justice for Samantha." One pleaded: "Bring Samantha back!!!"

Another added: "Good on Samantha for not letting Joey talk to her! Let him feel the guilt." One viewer continued: "Samantha if you want to kill Joey and burn the place down it's okay we'll understand." One TV fan chimed in: "Joey doing the absolute most... Samantha is real, I'm glad she did that.”
