Love Island fans are convinced that Joey Essex is set for heartbreak after a 'telling' comment from Grace Jackson on Tuesday.
Joey, 33, and model Grace, 25, who are thought to have previously dated for around a year after meeting in Ibiza, couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they were reunited earlier in the series, firmly rekindling their romance. As the two reunited, it meant Joey's former partner in the villa, Samantha Kenny, was brutally dumped from the show.
However, there was drama in store on Monday's episode as new bombshell Konnor Ewudzi picked Grace at the recoupling. This left Joey fuming as he had only recently rekindled with his ex from outside the villa and he was then partnered up with Jess White in a friendship partnership.
On Tuesday's episode, Grace questioned how they would work on the outside, asking Joey if things would be 'wild' for them. Grace said: "Obviously it is a little bit in the back of my mind, it's going to be different on the outside and obviously we did kind of start off in this kind of setting, where we were spending every day together. Just in your own little bubble."
She added: "I don't want to get to the point where we're so close and have got genuinely very strong feelings for you then to be on the outside for it just to go as it did last time. I also don't want to fall into the pressure of feeling like we have to live together or be together 24/7. I don't want to rush it because it feels like I should."
Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers predicted heartbreak for Joey as they sensed Grace might be getting second thoughts. One person said: "Grace and Joey talking about what life on the outside will be like as if they’ve not already experienced life on the outside together and realise it didn’t work #loveisland" while a different account put: "Not the seeds of doubt being sowed into Grace’s head lol #loveisland."
Elsewhere, one person said: "Grace, what you trying to say mixed messages #loveIsland", a different account put: "Grace is defo not 100% with Joey #LoveIsland", another wrote: "Grace literally just told Joey that it might not work on the outside. #loveisland" while a different viewer added: "Grace is stylishly telling Joey that they won’t make it on the outside #loveIsland."
Elsewhere during Tuesday's episode, the girls and boys had to show off their moves and show what they are made of in the famous heart rate challenge. The girls were up first followed by the boys with the results causing drama in the villa as it was revealed which Islander made each contestant's heartbeat the most - with it revealed Grace's heart was raised the most by Ayo Odukoya while Joey's was Nicole Samuel.
Yet this wasn't the only shock as Harriett Blackmore received a text, saying: "Your heart rates weren't the only ones raised tonight... Jess and Joey, Trey and Jessy are waiting to date you can you please head out of the villa." This prompted Grace to shout in a one-word response: "Boring!" as Joey looked frustrated over the twist. In a first-look teaser for Wednesday's episode, viewers were introduced to new bombshells Trey Norman and Jessy Potts.
