Louise Thompson has addressed the prospect of having more children following the "traumatic" birth of her son.
The reality TV star, 34, has spoken about various health issues in recent years. It includes her having shared that she's experienced post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following the arrival of her son Leo, now two, back in 2021.
The former Made in Chelsea cast member has discussed having an emergency caesarean and she is said to have experienced "serious complications". Her baby's head is said to have got stuck in her pelvis and torn her womb. Louise has stated that she lost several litres of blood during childbirth and once said that she "danced with death".
Ahead of her new memoir Lucky: Learning to Live Again being released later this week, Louise appeared on ITV's Lorraine on Tuesday to discuss her experience. She spoke to host Lorraine Kelly whilst a guest on the talk show.
Asked by the presenter about the prospect of having more children, Louise commented: "It's still fairly inconclusive. I will never mentally be strong enough to carry a child and physically I've got something called Asherman syndrome where my uterus is glued together with scar tissue."
She added in the interview: "I suppose in one sense it's a bit of a miracle that I didn't have to have a hysterectomy, so I do still have a womb. I had a year with no periods ... then I had a surgery to try and fix that, and then that ended up in another haemorrhage." She went on to state: "Where I'm left currently is that the hospital have sort of said, 'It would be too life-threatening ... we wouldn't want to do another surgery in that area. Like let's let you live.'"
Louise continued: "And equally y'know I'm so grateful to have one beautiful, healthy child who has lots of friends and cousins. I do have ovaries so there's a chance that I could freeze some eggs and embryos ... when I am ready."
Discussing the childbirth, Louise said that one aspect that was "really horrific" was that she was awake for the three hour procedure, which she said was "unthinkable". She said that her partner Ryan Libbey, now 33, also "witnessed" it.
She said in the interview: "I think that that definitely contributed to the development of the PTSD because you're aware of everything that's going on. You're witnessing yourself bleed to death and you can see the panic in the room, you can feel the shaky hands on your body. I wish that I had actually been put to sleep."
Louise, who's previously shared that she's been diagnosed with lupus and ulcerative colitis, announced last month that she had a stoma bag fitted after having her colon removed. Speaking about her health now, she said in the interview: "Honestly, I feel so good. This is the best I've felt in two years, two and a half, three years, and actually even pre-pregnancy."
