The BBC has released first-look pictures for a thrilling four-part series from the creator of ITV's Doc Martin.

Psychological thriller, Dead and Buried written by Colin Bateman, is set to grip TV viewers across the country as Humans actor Colin Morgan leads an all-star cast. The four-part series was commissioned by BBC Northern Ireland and Virgin Media Television in collaboration with All3Media International.

The star-studded cast includes Annabel Scholey, known for The Split, The Serial Killer's Wife, The Salisbury Poisonings, Colin Morgan of Humans, Belfast, Merlin fame and Kerri Quinn from Hope Street. The show will also include Waj Ali (Carnival Ro), Owen Roe and many more.

Produced by Three River Fiction and Vico Films, the series received support from Screen Ireland, Northern Ireland Screen and Coimisiun na Mean. Filmed earlier this year on the border of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, the series is set to air this autumn on BBC One Northern Ireland and BBC iPlayer.

The gripping plot revolves around the character Cathy who encounters Michael the man convicted of her brother's brutal murder two decades ago - outside a supermarket with her young son. Despite her best friend's advice, Cathy takes to social media to reveal Michael's successful career and family life since his early release from prison, while she mourned her brother.

Haunted by her past, Cathy embarks on a secret relationship with the man she loathes, initiating a campaign of harassment and deceit. As her obsession intensifies, the lines between revenge fantasies and reality blur as she wages psychological warfare to ruin Michael's life.

Dead and Buried is a production of Three River Fiction (Trackers) and Vico Films (Animals, The Young Offenders), in association with All3Media International. It was commissioned by BBC Northern Ireland and Virgin Media Television in Ireland.

The drama is penned by Colin Bateman (Murphy's Law, Doc Martin) and directed by Laura Way (Maxine, Blood, The Holiday). The commissioning heads are Eddie Doyle for BBC Northern Ireland and Sinead Stimpfig for Virgin Media Television.

Back in 2014, actor Colin took on the role of DS Tom Anderson opposite Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan for serial killer thriller The Fall. In addition to this, he also appeared in Kenneth Branagh's 2021 biopic Belfast. This time he took on the role of t Billy Clanton and again appearing with Jamie Dornan.

Fans will also remember him in Channel 4 show, Humans. The show centred around human like robots, which later malfunctioned.
