Christmas film TV guide 2023 - all the best movies to watch up until Boxing Day

As Christmas Day draws near apart from buying presents and decorating the tree the next important decision to make is what you're going to watch - so he's a few suggestions

There is nothing better than relaxing on the sofa with a few of your favourite Quality Street chocolates in one hand and the remote control in the other.

And this year, you're in for a treat as across the board of the main channels are some of the most iconic Christmas films. From Toy Story 4 on BBC1 on Christmas Day to Home Alone and Forest Gump on Channel 4. And lets not forget our streaming services. Netflix are offering a host of movies including National Lampoon Christmas and Amazon Prime is showing Elf. But here is a run down of some of our favourite movies, what channel it's on and at what time....enjoy.

BBC1

Sound Of Music is showing for all the family to watch starring the legendary Julie Andrews. This musical drama tells the story of a nun who flees her convent to take up residence with a large family. This is showing on Christmas Eve at 2.50pm

Toy Story 4 is showing on Christmas Day(Disney/Pixar)

Cinderella is the perfect treat for the big day showing at 11.15am on Christmas Day and this is closely followed by Toy Story 4 at 3.10pm straight after King Charles's first ever Christmas speech at 3pm.

ITV

Pitch Perfect starring Rebel Wilson is about a new college student in America who decides to shake things up when she joins a female a-capella group. This is showing at 11.30am on Christmas Day.

This is followed by an animated film called Sing which is about a host of animals who battle it out in a singing competition. And it stars Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey as some of the Hollywood names that are voice overs.

Channel 4

Mog's Christmas is a hand-drawn animated special adaptation of Judith Kerr's Mog's Christmas and is celebrating her 100th anniversary. And you can watch it here at 7.45pm on Christmas Eve.

You are in for a treat on Christmas Day as it starts off with Puss In Boots at 10.25am, followed by the Italian Job, starring Mark Wahlberg at 3.10pm. After a leisurely break or a snooze, wake up to Home Alone at 5.20pm and end the night with Forest Gump at 9.25pm.
