BBC Breakfast viewers were left scratching their heads this morning after Naga Munchetty was replaced by journalist Nina Warhurst for the third day in a row.

The television presenter co-hosts the morning programme alongside Charlie Stayt, but Naga's spot on the iconic red sofa has been filled by stand-in host Nina since Thursday. The 49-year-old has been fronting the news programme from Thursday to Saturday - leaving many confused by Naga's absence.

Taking to X, one watcher penned: "Where is Naga this week? Nice to see Nina on the sofa with Charlie." Another person echoed: "Anyone seen Naga Munchetty? I think I’m actually missing her today. #BBCBreakfast."

The change comes after Naga recently gave a devastating health update as she opened about the pressure of hiding the "constant, nagging pain" triggered by her adenomyosis. She was first diagnosed with the debilitating condition, which is characterised by the lining of the uterus invading the womb's muscle, in 2022.

Adenomyosis can trigger an array of uncomfortable symptoms from pelvic pain to heavy bleeding during menstrual cycles. Speaking to Metro about her condition, Naga said: "I have done all my life: through my GCSEs, through my A-Levels, through my degree, and every job I had. No one wants to be seen as weak. I don't think that now."

Since her diagnosis and receiving appropriate treatment, she reports that her condition is more manageable. Naga also expressed no concern about it affecting her standing at work.

Meanwhile, others were thrilled by the BBC Breakfast shake-up, as another person shared: "I'm actually able to enjoy later week @BBCBreakfast broadcasts now. Thank you @NinaWarhurst for being there. Long may it last."

Another added: "@BBCBreakfast isn't it lovely to see nina back on breakfast tv what a delightful morning." This comes after Nina joined the BBC Breakfast team in 2020 as the resident business correspondent.

Earlier in her career she worked for BBC East Midlands regional news, before switching to BBC North West. In 2018, she started reporting for BBC Breakfast on a freelance basis, and acted as a relief presenter when regular hosts were unavailable.

During Friday’s instalment, Nina and Charlie were joined by butcher Gavin Reynolds, who was hailed the world's speediest sausage maker, after rustling up 83 Lincolnshire sausages in 60 seconds. As part of a discussion about condiment preferences, Nina tucked into one of his cooked sausages live on air, saying: "Delicious, can confirm."

Instead of introducing the next segment, she covered her mouth and told Charlie: "I'll let you do the next bit. There's a bit stuck in my teeth!" Posting their reaction to the amusing scenes on X, one user shared: "@NinaWarhurst you are the best, eating a sausage live on air is brilliant. You need to be on the red sofa every morning. Love it."
