BBC Breakfast viewers were unimpressed with a talk about cloud as they moaned "slow news day".

Fans of the iconic morning programme all appeared to share the same complaint as they groaned about a "boring" segment. The BBC showcased a number of people relaying their love for kicking back and watching the white water vapour puffs float through the skies.

Those who enjoyed the odd cloud watch explained how "peaceful" and "relaxing" it could be to zone out for several seconds and watch the world go by. Many who took part in the piece to camera, agreed that they would have liked more time to observe and understand the mass of water droplets suspended in the earth's atmosphere.

Fans were no enamoured with the cloud segment

The clip concluded, with the camera now returning to the studio where hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were presenting from their usual patch, and of course, the duo had something to say on the matter.

"Not something you can argue with, really," chimed in Naga. She went on to request: "Perhaps you are keen cloud spotter, if so please send us your pictures via the usual methods. We'd love to see your pictures, the more speculator the better obviously."

Fans all had the same complaint about the programme

Charlie, who had been oddly quiet on the subject, until now, commented: "Or the ordinary ones as well, doesn't really matter, does it?" But, it appeared viewers did not share the same sentiment as the hosts.

Over on Twitter - formerly known as X - there were reams of tweets that were actually quite contrary. One person penned: "#SlowNewsDay at #BBCBreakfast as they bring the nation a story about clouds."

While another online user simply could not understand the concept. They fumed: "@‌BBCBreakfast please tell me what is the news angle in your 'cloud' segment? Surely there are things happening around the country and world that is news worthy, say in Palestine?"

A third commenter jested: "Thoughts with all the news presenters today... filling and killing time! @‌BBCBreakfast are currently 10mins into a segment on clouds!"

Others wrote: "Right next .....ffs #bbcbreakfast," and "Yawn #BBCBreakfast." There were however a small minority who disagreed, "Very much enjoyed your cloud spotting segment, @‌BBCBreakfast," said one as a second echoed: "I love watching the clouds too #bbcbreakfast."
