One influencer has opened up about suffering from body insecurities on holiday.

Sophie Lait, 27, from Devon, is known for sharing body positive posts on Instagram from her @sophthickfitnesss account. However, the social media star, who boasts 219,000 followers on the site, is also open with her fans about struggling with body image issues.

And this week, the blonde beauty admitted to her followers that she was overwhelmed with body worries on her recent trip to Thailand.

Despite saying that the holiday was a 'bucket list' getaway for her, Sophie said she spent a lot of the time 'spiralling' over her legs and her 'saggy' chest.

She was open with followers about the issues with her fanbase as she shared an emotional statement and photos of herself sporting bikinis while away.

Sophie told fans: "Get ready, cos I’m about to list my insecurities from my trip to Thailand. My @trutravels holiday was undoubtedly a bucket list adventure of a LIFETIME, yet I couldn’t shake the heavy feeling of self doubt & low self worth!! It’s crazy isn’t it, being emersed in the most magical place, yet my confidence was at an all time low. I’m gonna go through each slide one by one, as I need to unpack some feelings here..."

She then added: "Pic 1 - I SPIRALLED after seeing the photo of my legs, holy moly! I wanted to pair this picture next to a “soft lighted” pic to help myself feel better (pics taken only 24hrs apart) but it didn’t help! I know I’ve now been diagnosed with lipoedema, but I still managed to degrade and belittle myself because I thought I looked 'ugly.

"Can I help this disease? Nope. Did it stop me from bullying myself? Nope. It took Bryn [her partner] to really centre myself after this. It’s such a shame because it was one of the best days of my life experiencing a thunderstorm at the floating bungalows, but it goes to show how body dysmorphia can ruin even that."

Sophie continued: "Pic 2 - I wanted to take some cute pics in my lil bikini, but this angle of my saggy girls caught me off guard and made a bit of an 'ugh Soph that’s gross' moment happen."

The influencer also said sh nearly didn't take part in a Muay Thai class because of 'how insecure she felt about her legs' – but said she was proud of herself that she did.

Sophie also jumped off a boat but added: "All I could focus on watching this back was how my belly wasn’t flat!!!!(as if that matters!!)"

Talking about another photo in the post, she wrote: "The girlies were sagging particularly well on this night and I kept hoisting them up! I desperately want to be able to see my n!pz but I guess I wasn’t blessed with being allowed to."

The social media star concluded by saying: "I hope my thoughts make you feel less alone in this world, ily."

Fans were quick to support Sophie, with the post racking up more than 10,000 likes. One reassured her: "All I see is a girl living her best life. Proud of you don’t let the doubts stop you." While another added: "You are absolutely amazing and I love you."

A third chimed: "Isn’t it funny how we view ourselves. I’m the same, tear myself apart any chance I get. But in these photos I just see a lovely girl enjoying her holiday and she looks beautiful."

While a fourth gushed: "You're so incredible for actually positing these things because ALL US GALS have the same thoughts about ourselves. To me, you're absolutely gorgeous in EVERY pic. But when it comes to myself...chip me into pieces because I'm disgusting. It's so hard, so I empathise."

The post comes after Sophie told fans last month that she tries to ease her body insecurities by donning cute swimwear. She wrote at the time: "Putting on a cute bikini is proven to make your insecurities go away," as she showed off her figure in a cherry print two-piece.
