There's good news if you have a Samsung TV in your living room with more free content launching this week. The boost comes courtesy of Swedish tech startup Staccs who had already launched a FAST (Free ad-supported streaming television) music service earlier this year on Samsung's TV Plus platform.

Now there's more music to watch via two channels called Staccs TV Throwback and Staccs TV Celebrate. These updates will arrive on screens from June 13 and won't cost a penny extra to watch.

Staccs TV Throwback will be dedicated to showcasing music from previous decades with a particular focus on the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Then there's Staccs TV Celebrate which the team is boasting will "provide the best soundtrack to your celebrations".

Speaking about the launch Robert Kviby, CEO of Staccs, said: “We are delighted to introduce these two new FAST channels to the UK music scene. Our mission is to bring back real music television and with these themed channels, fans will be able to enjoy music in a very special way. Our partnership with Samsung is going from strength to strength, and these two new channels are a testament to this.

"Staccs TV Throwback and Staccs TV Celebrate will offer a unique blend of nostalgia and celebration, as well as showcasing how Staccs is genuinely building the best music TV platform around.”

That's clearly great if you own a Samsung TV but LG owners are also getting a boost as well. The Korean tech giant has confirmed the launch of an exclusive FAST service called LG 1. The company is boasting that this will broadcast never-before-seen shows to owners of its latest screens along with award-winning content and bingeworthy boxsets.

At launch, LG owners will be able to view a range of content including the premieres of “Wong & Winchester” and “Paul T. Goldman”.

There will also be a vast library of other shows and full-season box sets, including the Critics' Choice Television Award winning series, “Nashville” starring Hayden Panettiere and “Boss”, starring Golden Globe winner Kelsey Grammer.

Speaking about the update ChoByung-ha, executive director of HE platform business at LG Electronics, added: “Launching LG’s new flagship FAST channel, LG 1, is a big statement of intent from LG. We are excited to be the first TV manufacturer to create this kind of experience for our customers. No one else is offering viewers exclusive, first-window, free content like this.

"Our new LG 1 channel is a first in the UK and the recent addition the great Sony One channels indicates our commitment to the delivery of accessible and premium content – we have over 150 channels dedicated to entertainment, factual, music and sport!”
