She may be nearing 100 years old, but Joan Richmond-Woodhouse certainly doesn't look a day over 50. Seriously, check her passport.

Known as Grandma Joan, the 93-year-old was born in 1930 on September 6 - 15 full years before the end of World War Two. But if you passed her on the street, you'd presume she was half that age at least. After her youthful looks made her go viral back in 2022, Joan has revealed her secret to holding back the clock.

And no, it's not expensive skin care products or fancy facials that keeps her looking youthful - nor is it costly botox and fillers. Joan credits her appearance to a common item you can pick up in Boots for a couple of quid.

People never believe her when she says she's 93 (

"After the war, when I was about 16, Nivea cream had just come out and my friend just came to the house and she said, 'This cream has just come out. Try it, it's brilliant.," Joan said last year in a TikTok video. "So I've used Nivea cream for years and years and years. Now everyone I know uses Nivea cream, too."

Commenters on the post were floored, with many saying they would be rushing out to get their hands on some Nivea products themselves as soon as possible. One person said: "'I'm off to buy some Nivea! You look amazing."

While another added: "Really unbelievable!" And another backed Joan's claim, writing: "My Mum is 90, everyone thinks she 20 years younger, she also uses Nivea."

Nivea products can be found in most supermarkets and pharmacies. The most popular Nivea product, the Nivea Creme, costs £5.99 at Boots for a 200ml tub, and can also be found at Superdrug for £5.99, on Ocado for £4.25, and at Amazon for £10.65. If you're not convinced, you can pick up a smaller 50ml tub in Boots for just £2.49.

Joan previously said she doesn't "do anything special" to stay looking young, and still tucks into pies even when spending most of her time in sunny Spain. The grandmother-of-18 said two years ago: "I don't know how to behave like a 91-year-old - I just act the same as I did when I was 21. I've always looked young, and people are always shocked when I tell them my age as I don't look, talk or act like I am 91.

"I don't do anything special to stay young – I love pies and English grub so even in Spain I've stuck to eating that. I've never put any weight on. I think that must be my secret to my young looks that and I just love life and have never had the mindset of being old."
