A mum from Kansas and her two young daughters who mysteriously vanished may have been forced to flee the country and head to a religious rehab in Mexico by an older couple, police have said. Martha Unger, 23, and her little girls Madilynn Grace Unger, 2, and Haylie Faith Unger, 1, were reported missing from rural Haskell County, Texas, just before 7 pm on June 28. Detectives suspect that the family may have been "coerced to travel to Mexico to a religious rehabilitation facility" by a couple in their fifties.

Police describe Martha as a young white woman with brown hair and green eyes, standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing roughly 120 pounds. Her daughters both have blonde hair and blue eyes. She is believed to be driving a 2015 white Ford Explorer with a Kansas license plate reading "301RJY". Federal officers think Corney and Elizabeth Klaasen may be involved in the family's disappearance.

"Investigators believe they may have been coerced to travel to Mexico to a religious rehabilitation facility with Corney and Elizabeth Klaasen," stated the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) in a Facebook post, reports the Mirror US.

The Klaasens are believed to be travelling in a white and black Chevy Blazer with Mexican plates. Corney is described as a 6-foot-2, clean-shaven man weighing around 200 pounds, clad in jeans and a button-up shirt.

Although no description of Elizabeth has been provided by the authorities, they have released a photo indicating that the couple are both white, with brown hair and glasses.

Local law enforcement is appealing for public assistance in finding the missing family. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has expressed its desire to "check the welfare of Martha and her children" and urges anyone with information about their location to contact 911 without delay.

An endangered persons advisory has been activated for Martha and her young daughters. Details remain vague regarding how Martha might be connected to the Klaasens or the specifics of the "religious rehabilitation facility" in Mexico where they may have taken her.

A family member took to Facebook with a plea: "Praying Martha and the girls will be home soon. If any one is willing please keep my brother and his family in your prayers."
