A man told staff at his six-year-old daughter’s primary school that he had “ended” her mother after stabbing her 17 times in a “senseless and selfish” attack.

Leon Murray confessed to the murder after he arrived at the school to collect his daughter following the brutal attack on his ex-partner Keisha Christodoulou.

A court heard how Murray went to their flat in Deptford the day after Keisha, 32, ended the relationship on October 31, 2022.

He savagely attacked her with a knife, stabbing her 17 times and leaving her on the living room floor before changing his clothes and going to collect their daughter from school, MyLondon reports.

At the school, he told a staff member that ‘it is done’ and that he had “ended” Keisha. The school dialled 999, as did Murray himself, telling police what he had done. Officers attended the flat and found Keisha on the living room floor.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem gave the cause of death as sharp force trauma to the chest.

Detective Inspector Adam Clifton, who led the investigation, said: “Murray’s horrific response to Keisha deciding to end their relationship is as senseless as it is selfish.

“Throughout the investigation and trial, Murray has tried to paint himself as a victim. The verdict of the jury shows that they rejected this.

“The level of violence used in the attack is utterly shocking and our thoughts remain with Keisha’s family and friends, particularly her three young children whose lives will never be the same.

“Tackling violence against women is one of our top priorities and we will continue in our efforts to bring dangerous perpetrators like Murray to justice. I would encourage anyone suffering domestic abuse to seek support.”

Murray was found guilty of murder at Wood Green Crown Court where he will be sentenced on Monday.
